I always stay downtown and I'm very comfortable getting around downtown or catching a train in/out of Union Station. I haven't tried other public transportation in the GTA. While the selection of talent downtown is pretty good, I find that there are some good choices that are more likely to be near the airport. I usually have time, so efficiency is less important than cost.

It looks like the UP Express train is an attractive option to get from downtown to the airport, and back. That would drop me at Terminal 1. What are the recommendations for getting to some of the agency incall locations that are identified as "airport" or, in one case, "Dixon & Hwy 27"? Would any be close enough to walk, say, in 15 minutes? How about Uber/Lyft from the terminal?

Are there options totally different than what I'm considering? Thanks for any advice!

If you have a room downtown get an outcall. They will transport to you and the small difference in price is easily made up in time saved and no transport costs.

You can't walk from the airport to any hotel. Add in the Shuttle and taxi/Uber cost, and a few hours of time to do it. ......

Outcall.

I have never done this, but you can get to the airport and depending upon the hotel that you need to get too most of them have a shuttle service to and from the hotel
Or just take a park and fly shuttle
With all this effort yes an outcall would be best!!!

Stick to downtown dude, plenty of options there. I even ended up repeating. Imagine trekking it out to airport only to have appt. cancelled?

TO transit's safe and clean and subway stations will sell you an unlimited day-pass, and give you a paper map. Google Maps isn't quite as good with buses, subways and streetcars as the TTC's own site, but it's familiar and easy to use. It can give you a picture of what's a reasonable transit trip for you, and whether it's worth perfecting the route, or just setting out because it's no big deal.

Except in rush-hour most surface transit times pretty much match what a car can do, unless they're really out to the distant 'burbs. Subway times easily beat surface, and almost every station has surface routes extending out from it, in theory nowhere in the City is more than a 10-15 minute walk from a transit stop.

Because it connects to the subway that crisscrosses the City, I've found the TTC's Airport Rocket express suits me better than the UP service. And it's cheaper.
