DeLigt had 2 good games in a row.
He was 2nd best player on the pitch yesterday after CR7
He's still going to be under pressure in the CL, Bonucci is too slow.

Parma is in European competition, four points ahead of Napoli in the table. The Scandinavians, Cornelius and Kulusevski are leading the surge.

It was fun watching the top 6 battle it out for a few years, but now some of them have collapsed, and other teams like Leicester and maybe even wolves have gate crashed their way in there.
Going from Milano to Staffordshire must have been a hard culture shock for Patrick Cutrone, he looks reborn as a Viola.

Fiorentina's new American owner Rocco Commisso is adamant that he will not sell any of his top players. Federico Chiesa's value is rising and could skyrocket during the upcoming Euros. His current calciomercato value is at $60 million.

Roberto Mancini wants to use him as a trequartista (false 9).

Would you call Eriksen a trequartista?

I have just learned this Italian word, and it seems that is the role he plays on the danish national team.

A trequartista is the focal point of a Y offense or the Ancelotti Arrow with a lone center forward and the trequartista behind him. The most famous duo to play that role is Pirlo - Kaka, in 2003 it was Pirlo - Rui Costa. If he can play that role then it would be Barella - Eriksen.

I didn't see him play the role in last year's CL Final. In English, a trequartista is a false 9.

Still nothing on calciomercato.

Apparently Eriksen has agreed to terms with Inter with a $9 million contract plus incentives. With Brozovic out with injury, his addition becomes crucial. Inter are willing to splash the cash for a push for the Scudetto.

The barrage continues.

There certainly is a changing of the guard in the PL, Man Utd are in total disarray, Spurs and Arsenal are inconsistent to say the least. My beloved Burnley beat Man Utd 2-0 this past Wednesday, first time we've won at Old Trafford since 1962, oh happy days.

We also beat Leicester 2-1 the previous Saturday :encouragement:

At the end of the last century Serie A had a financial meltdown, several clubs went bankrupt including Napoli. It wasn't readily apparent since a golden generation was beginning to mature. The financial backwash finally came in last decade when Italian clubs were forced to sell their stars. At the moment no other league is paying more in transfers and salary than the EPL. That's going to be a big problem if the UK crashes out of The Single Market - EU Domestic Rules may no longer apply. Paul Pogba evoked the Bosman Rule to join Juve, then got sold back for a transfer fee of $117 million plus a salary of $20.8 million a year - that's nuts! By comparison, Christian Eriksen will make $9 million a year, once he clears his medical on Monday, with Inter Milan.

English players are now moving to Serie A, they are not valued in their own country. The British Press complains that France produces more top class players than England, Frenchies invest a portion of the money they get from transfers into their development program....Didn't know where Burnley is, Googled it, near The Lake District - nice.

Napoli 2 Juventus 1

It started slow but got thrilling. Napoli unveiled their new signing Diego Demme, German of Italian descent. His bio says he's a member of Der Mannschat but I haven't seen much of them lately.

Scouser's gonna love this...Momento di Orgasmo!!!!!!

Good game, so was Roma-Lazio, pretty intense considering they're rivals.

I sense your pain khufu...even though I hate Manu for what they did to my club Roma. 7-1, as Chief Guard in A Clockwork Orange said "A right brutal ass raping it was". I never saw George best play, my father thought he was as good as Pele.

Supposedly the front runners to take over for Ole are Mauricio Pochettino and Max Allegri. Their offer to Cagliari for Nicolo Barella was a bit of a joke. Someone got ahead of themselves.

However, Italian managers dont seem to fancy English weather, culture or food. Both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri didnt last too long at Chelsea.
Sarri is old school, he was a pension fund manager before he decided to pursue his dream. Not a good fit for Chelsea and he likes to smoke butts on the touchline. Carlo Ancelotti doesn't mind the occasional fish pie - as long as Everton management supports his plan.

Barella wouldn't have done any better at Lancashire than Cutrone did at Wolverhampton. They were also interested in Dybala but ManU were unwilling to pay his wage demands. That may have worked better since the Pogba/Dybala partnership got Juve into two CL Finals. If Allegri takes the job, you can be sure Pogba will work his ass off for him.

The problem I see for the EPL is what happens after the UK crashes out of The Single Market? From what I've read the EU isn't willing to give BoJo the concessions he wants anymore than Theresa May. EU Domestic rules may no longer apply. Numerous foreign born players have been able to get around it by claiming ancestry to a European country. Lionel Messi is a domestic due to his Marchegiani roots, he didn't have a problem getting an Italian passport.

David Beckham 23

I'll bend it like........
A group of approximately 20 people aimed fireworks at home of Man Utd CEO Ed Woodward and chanted threatening slogans.

With Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba out with injuries, the ManU midfield needs help in the worst possible way. Yet the club has been lethargic in signing reinforcements. Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes is said to be on the way but hasnt happened yet. So understandable for fans to be frustrated. But to go to the extent of harassing the CEO at his home? That is insane.

That said, the setup at ManU is all wrong. Why the hell is an accountant who knows nothing about football in charge of football policy? That is the main reason the club has been in decline since Alex Ferguson departed.

Confession: I have been a ManU supporter since George Best donned the No. 7 jersey. Breaks my heart to see the blokes at Liverpool doing so well. But Jurgen Klopp is a genius!
If you've been a supporter for so long you should know we never say Man U. United, Manchester United or even Man United. Never Man U. And Welcome Bruno!!

Dortmund knocked out Inter from the CL by exploiting their depleted right wing, can Ashley Young fill that role? He got the start.
