I'm more confounded as to why Conte left Bastoni on the bench? Immobile caught Godin flat footed on several occasions.

Jurgen Kloop is supporting Lazio to win the Scudetto. He cites having Lucas at Liverpool and Immobile at Dortmund...I don't think Ciro holds his time in the Bundesliga with fondness.

UEFA can't pussy out of this, a number of smaller clubs will go bankrupt. I focused on PSG but they are not the only blood money club.

Hazard, Silva, Modric, Dybala, Pogba would never have been left out of a game of that magnitude by any manager.

On current form, Eriksen belongs with Isco, Ozil, Kroos, Ramsey, James Rodriguez and the like: average. If he was a difference maker, Spurs would have won something with him there for 7 years.
I can not argue against the group of Isco, Ozil, Kroos, Ramsey, James Rodriguez and the like. Eriksen is overrated a bit in the danish newspapers that I read. I will say that he has a first class dead ball technique and a knack for making brilliant passes. He is not a good dribbler.

But Conte had another reason than you for not using Eriksen, when he was asked after the game. I think I will go with Conte.

Khufu, you left out Pirlo, how dare you!:D

The CL starts up again. Anybody but the blood money clubs. I hope Real ass rapes Man City. Unfortunately PSG with their $345 million budget look unstoppable, led by two of the most repugnant players in the game: Neymar and Icardi. I would love to see Napoli do the deed but Barcelona will whine their way into the next round.

Dane, no offence but Diego Demme, of Italian descent part of Die Mannschaft, has made a far bigger impact with Napoli than Eriksen has with Inter.

Believe it or not, I am not an uber fan of Eriksen. He has enviable ball delivery technique and a brilliant eye for the game, but that is pretty much it. He can appear somewhat passive as a player.

But maybe he will grow (his reason for mowing to Inter). So far he has only played 130 minutes out of 430 minutes for Inter.

Here reminds me of Bernd Schneider, who helped get a German team full of grinders to the World Cup Final in 2002.

danmand ouch, Kjaer goes down on a nothing play, he pulled a hamstring. Sorry to see, he got his plum gig lining up with potentially the best defender in the world. Luck is not with him, I'd rather see Gabbia get playing time rather than Musachio. He makes to many mistakes.

And yes folks, I'll take Il Capitano over van Dijk any day.

Was referring to active players. If we have to go a little further back, one of my (and I am sure your) all time favorites is the one and only indomitable Francesco Totti. He was the Johan Cruyff of his generation. Dribble, pass, score - he could do it all.
You might also name Michael Laudrup, who as Eriksen was an attacking midfielder.

Michael Laudrup made a bigger impact in Spain than he did in Italy. He won the Champions Cup with Barcelona in 92 but got demolished by Milan in 94. The Danish player who made the biggest impact in Italy remains Preben Elkjaer, who won the Scudetto with Verona in 85. He was known as Cavalo Pazzo "Crazy Horse". the club included Hans Peter Brieghel, Antonio Di Gennaro and his strike partner the fleet footed Beppe Galderisi. Although the two later players didn't have much success at the 1986 World Cup. One player that could have made a difference with that Azzurri, was out with a broken leg: Carlo Ancelotti.

When Roma won the Scudetto in 2001, we called him Frank Tutti. Totti was a very handsome young man, he was getting pussy galore. He remained loyal to the club even though they bled red ink. Daniel De Rossi tried to follow in his footsteps but Roma let him go last summer. It caused a rift between Totti and the club but Roma couldn't justify keeping him with Cristante and Zaniolo ready for prime time. DDR has famous friends, Colin Firth is one of his neighbours and, before he left for Argentina, he used to go fishing with this bloke.

I watched both games at the same time today. Atletico were very agressive in the first few minutes and scored. The rest of the time was Liverpool attacking and they couldn't score for the llife of them, Atletico's defense was great. Both exciting games....Dortmund was very good, they won and missed a few goals too. PSG with that powerhouse couldn't do much, finally Mbappe woke up at the 75th and handed one to Netmar which scored. But Dortmund was great....lots of youngsters.

Filippo you never told me who the redhead was?

I'm hoping that Dortmund can knock out the Bourbon club. It's going to be tough, the Bundesliga has declined of late, they need a major upset. Atletico must have watched the Napoli tapes, Diego Simeone knows catenaccio. I don't think they can survive at Anfield, Kloop will be watching the Juve tapes.

Speaking of Juve, it's time for Paolo Dybala to shine. Juve haven't been to the Final since Paul Pogba left. Juve have injury problems, I would prefer Bernardeschi over Ramsey as a false 9, superior passing. However neither is at their best, hobbled by injuries.

Forza Atalanta...made before he left for Parma where he's part of a formidable attack with Gervinho and Kulusevski. Btw, Dane, I heard the word so many times when I was in Denmark, what does fck mean?

The best foodball players are Scandinavians:

'What a brute of a player': Fans stunned by powerhouse Champions League display from Dortmund's teenage sensation Erling Haaland
19 Feb, 2020 11:46 / Updated 1 hour ago

Borussia Dortmund's wunderkind Erling Haaland underscored his growing reputation with two goals against Paris Saint-Germain in a performance hailed as sensational by supporters.
Haaland, 19, who joined the German side from Red Bull Salzburg in late December, has hit the ground running in his new home. And the Norwegian hitman continued his remarkable run of scoring form with a brace against the Parisian club that could consign former Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel and the oil-rich PSG to another season of UEFA Champions League misery.

But if things aren't exactly going swimmingly for Neymar, Mbappe and co. in the French capital, the same certainly can't be said of Erling Haaland.

'He's something else': Haaland nets 20-minute hat-trick on Bundesliga debut as wonderkid helps Dortmund to comeback win
The Norwegian teenager continued his red-hot run in front of goal for Dortmund with his 10th and 11th goals for the club in just seven appearances as he left European football fans and analysts purring with his outstanding performance.

Haaland's first was a typically predatory striker's goal as he seized upon a loose ball in the penalty area. But if his first was a routine finish, his second was something special.

Taking advantage of the type of pace some would consider unusual for a man of his proportions, Haaland latched onto a through ball and unleashed a thunderbolt of a strike into the top left corner from 20 yards.

Haaland restores the lead immediately. This guy is world class. Fine assist from Sancho #BVBPSG

It’s actually 39 goals this season. Forgot to add on tonight’s brace. Ridiculous. https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/1229885339575164928

Goals scored in their first 100 club games:

 Erling Håland: 60
 Kylian Mbappe: 27

Just take a moment and let that sink in. This kid is the real deal. A generational talent.

He has now scored more Champions League goals this season than the entire Barcelona squad. He has more career strikes in the competition than both Eden Hazard and Philippe Coutinho. And it looks as though he is only just getting started.

The gangly, blonde-haired striker is the son of former Leeds United and Manchester City (and notable foe of Roy Keane) Alfe-Inge Haaland; a player who had a solid but inauspicious career in the English top flight.

How faaaaast is Haaland? What a run

Haaland became Usain Bolt for a moment on that counter **♂**♂

Erling Håland completed a 60-meter sprint yesterday against PSG in 6.64 seconds

6.64 SECONDS. The world record is 6.34 seconds. This kid is absolutely rapid, he’s technically great and a clinical finisher. Scary talent.⚡

Håland’s stats this season are INSANE.

• 29 games
• 39 goals
• 6 hat-tricks
• 11 goals in 7 games for Dortmund
• Hat-trick on his Bundesliga debut
• 10 goals in 7 UCL games (Against PSG, Liverpool & Napoli)
• Scored more UCL goals than Barça & Atleti

19 years old.

Indeed, he was born in a Leeds hospital - a fact which no doubt leaves some England supporters cursing the fact that Haaland didn't decide to follow the heritage of the country of his birth, on the international football scene at least.

He seems blessed with all the natural attributes required of a top striker but, on top of his obvious finishing ability, his strength on the ball and searing pace stood out in an impressive performance.

Five goals in 59 minutes for Dortmund... teen sensation Haaland is establishing himself as world football's biggest young star
Indeed, one box-to-box run during Tuesday's clash with PSG saw him clocked at just 6.64 seconds for a 60-meter sprint – a time that would have qualified him for the World Indoor Championship 60 meter final in 2018.

Following his latest exhibition of fleet feet and a sledgehammer shot, all eyes will be on Haaland as he travels to Paris with his Dortmund side looking to finish the job next week.

Diego Simeone has turned defending into a science. Liverpool had 70% possession but created only one good opportunity the entire match. Incredible. Eventually Mane and Salah were substituted. Who would have thunk that.
Haaland is the real deal. His second goal was a cracker. To be the best player when Mbappe, Neymar, Angel Maria, etc. were on the pitch speaks volumes about his quality.
I did, Napoli minimized them through two legs, Simeone was paying attention. Haaland is exceptional, he scored a fabulous goal against Napoli while playing for RB Salzburg in the group stage. He played against Liverpool in that group. I checked his bio, he was born in Leeds and was initially part part of ManU's youth system. He was allowed to leave and Norwegian club Molde picked him up...I tell ya, Manchester United is no longer the club I love to hate! His coach at Molde was Ole Solksjaer. They must have changed the CL rules, if Haaland can play for Dortmund after participating with RB Salzburg then Demme can play for Napoli after participating with Leipzig?

Imho Kulusevski is just as good as Haaland, but we wont get to see him until next year. He joins Juve in the summer - Manchester United is a fucked up club.

Kulusevski, born in Stockholm of Macedonian descent. He's only two months older than Haaland.

I don't watch DAZN often, being dedicated to Serie A, TLN has all the football I need. DAZN has the advantage of being able two switch formats easily. Atalanta vs Valencia on the home theater, with Leipzig vs " La Squadra Speciale" in the home office.

Bergamo is still playing their home games at San Siro, the renovations to Cheese Wiz stadium are not yet complete. It's looks impressive though. Atalanta is a club no one wants to face, they are playing without pressure. It's refreshing to see such a small town club competing against "il lumaconi grandi".

Not sure who I was seeing on the pitch, was that Valencia or the Toronto Maple Leafs - Atalanta 4 Valencia 1. Tottenham have their injury problems, Leizig take an important away goal.

Could you sell lots of tickets for a Atalanta vs Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium?

I think they pilled Mane' because he was elbowing, he got a yellow card for a dirty elbow move and he did a second one, I'm suprised he got away with it. Salah I guess was burned out from trying...
