New Season, new thread.

What a sight for sore eyes, Camila Gonzalez is back with the Serie A Season preview.

DAZN sucks ass, I checked out the tennis program. They had a special on Bianca Andreescu, I clicked it and she wasn't even in the feature. I will be checking in to see who scores more goals with their respective clubs, Kean with Everton or Cutrone with Wolves. Both are very young and need regular playing time. Like Kean, Cutrone scored clutch goals for Milan including a 90th minute winner against Roma. Wolves play ManU today.

And finally Mario Balotelli (crickets...crickets). He's back at his hometown club of Brescia. When he first left, he said that he would make the locals forget all about local legend Roberto Baggio. A man of his word he iz.

Moise Kean and Patrick Cutrone combined age 40. Both have very good heads on their shoulders, they will pick up the English language quickly. They are the future of the Azzurri.

I thought Wolverhampton was a suburb of Birmingham...like Chievo to Verona.

I though this thread was about American football not soccer, lol
Soccer is a mangiacake term. For me they are gridiron football and football - or calcio.

The pass rushing GOAT. At run stopping he's second to Lawrence Taylor.

Not for a second, or even a fraction of a second, did I think this thread was about American (fake) football.

This is shocking! Juve are offering PSG $115 million + Paulo Dybala for Sucky Baby. If this deal goes through it will be anybody but Juve, as John Cleese would say, "I fart in their general direction". As Laurence Olivier would say, "get thee to Barcelona".

Here's another strange one, Frank Ribery is joining Fiorentina on the Bosman Rule. He should retire like Robben, he may have nothing left.

Btw the British Pound has lost almost a quarter of it's value against the American Dollar since May 1.

Any knowledgeable Cul'e will tell you that we don't want Neymar back at Camp Nou.

He wanted to leave, so go! Fuck off. He snuck away with no integrity or credibility. Just a spoiled child who wanted to play with his friend Dani Alves as if they were going to the local lot.

Now the PSG fans hate him and he sees how good he had it winning a UCL and playing with a much better team.

Go away and stay away, Ney.

That's not what I'm hearing Don, Barca just shipped Phillipe Coutinho to Bayern to make room for him...he should have stayed at Inter. Bakayoko revived his career at Milan, he's not leaving. I'd rather Juve sign Eriksen than Naymar, it would give me a reason not to hate them.

Frank Ribery has signed with Fiorentina. No sure if he has anything left but new owner Rocco Commisso wants bums in the seats.

Inter could give Juve serious competition this year. They signed both Barella and Sensi, two rising stars of the new Azzurri. This is like what Napoli could have done had they signed both Insigne and Verratti after they left Pescara.

Well aware of this, my esteemed colleague.

Joan Laporta should be President, not Bartomeu. He's in by default after Rosell was discovered to have all those shady business deals. Criminal. In 2015, when Laporta ran for the office again, he lost the election. Everyone had "Pie in the Sky" syndrome after we won the second treble. So popular (not actual) belief prevailed. The voters should have seen further. Valverde wouldn't be coaching now .

What the board wants and what football wants are often different things, as you well know.

It's better for Barca to rid themselves of Neymar. This is the truth. He was there already, had his shot at the can, was vehemently asked to stay but left like a petulant child. No one at Camp Nou wanted him to leave.

Now, if he comes back, he'll walk into the locker room with the attitude of: "I won a Champions league here. I'm royalty. Fuck off and get out of my way". Not fair to all the players who have remained and stayed true.

A new team has been built without him and we'll deal with it. This board continues to make bad decisions and not uphold the Tradition of Barca: develop La Masia, respect the sport as an art form, celebrate Catalan culture.

It's philosophy based football, not pragmatic.

Shouldn't that be follar? That word sounds too mild I prefer fan cul.

The problem with Barcelona is they've become reactive, instead of creative, to the market. They eat their young, Wallace and Coutinho are expendable, who's next Dembele and/or Dejong. It's not a good situation. Naymar has been a curse to Barca every since they took a transfer ban on his initial transfer. The so-called experts are picking Barca to win the CL, I don't see it. Mind you, Juve selling Kean, they're not winning it either. Higuain better do something or he'll become just as hated in Torino.

What works for Juve is they have two of the best Under 23 defenders in the world, combined age 42. I would love to see them play together in the Champions league. de Ligt is more versatile but Demiral is a beast!

By the way, the Arsenal v Liverpool game is being broadcast on NBC tomorrow at 12.30PM. Noticed that they did the same at this times last Saturday for the Tottenham v Aston Villa Game.

So at least some Premier League games will be televised in good quality rather than watching DAZN.

Wolverhampton spoiled Torino's party by beating them 3-2 at the Olimpico in the Europa League playoffs. This will be the last season "Il Toro" play there.

The club is going back to the future. Stadio Filadelfia is getting rebuilt, it was the home of Grande Torino. The reason why Real Madrid won the first five Champions Cups, in the late 50's is Grande Torino and Manchester United were decimated by air crashes.

When Lorenzo Insigne first joined Napoli he was unfairly compared to Lionel Messi. That's a tough burden to put on a young player.

Since 2017 he has matured into a great player in his own right. Captain of Napoli, his home town club, he scored a brace against Fiorentina in a thrilling 4 - 3 win. Manolas and Koulibaly made mistakes, they are not in sync yet. Prior to the match against Sweden, Insigne and coach Ventura had a difference of opinion and "The Body" refused to use him. He picked DDR as his last substitution, DDR was incensed saying, "why are you picking me when Lorenzo should be out there". The rest is disastrous history.

There is no animosity between current Azzurri coach Roberto Mancini and Insigne. Mancini will even give Balotelli another chance depending on how he does at Brescia - even though he got on Mancini's nerves when they were at Man City.

The Azzurri get the yips against Former Yugoslavian Nationals.

The least surprising Match of the Day; Inter 4 Lecce 0

I newly promoted club isn't much of test of how good a club can be. However Inter have real depth, Suning splashed the cash big time. They will challenge for the Scudetto and do real damage in the CL.

Ac Milan got stung by FFP rules, they are out of Europe for this season. So how does Barcelona get away with it?

This requires an explanation, the pundits don't know what they're talking about.

The plan was to have de Ligt and Demiral to play together. That got complicated when Bonucci refused a loan out to PSG, de Ligt was to take his place. Chiellini has already stated that he'll retire once his contract expires, Demiral will take his place. With Chiellini and Bonucci still having a role with The Azzurri, we will see the de Ligt - Demiral duo after the Internationals. Opposing teams are going to beg for the Italians!
