In a bid to look good to voters Trump is trying to make himself look good by trying to get a better deal for Americans. He slapped a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum, only to remove it later. The American steel and aluminum industry benefited by increasing prices on their products. They had no plans to build new facilities or to open old shuttered facilities to create American jobs. Only to have the tariffs removed later.

Will Trump plunge us into recession, or is it too late already. Trump has place tarrifs on $200 Billion on goods made in China. On September 1, $361 billion worth of Chinese products will face tariffs. Will Trump blink and back off.

The real question is Trump going to plunge the entire world into a recession? He's trying his best to run America like he ran his businesses, just make it up as he goes along and blame or sue his way out of it.

Trump's biggest folly is supporting Brexit. He could have dealt with China effectively if he hadn't alienated his allies. Boris Johnson got the Bronx Cheer when he showed up at Holyrood. There will be no "snappy beautiful" free trade deal, Wall Street will not cede control to London.

President Xi can play the long game, he's slapped $75 Billion of tariffs on American goods. He was made President for life by his cohorts The Mao Princelings who control the Communist Party. Past Presidents saw this coming and did nothing, Trump is dealing with it in his haphazard way.

Trump is a bully playing by is old rules he used in the real estate game. Look at what he did to Canada with threats of a 25% tariff on steel and 10% on aluminum. In times or world or national emergency a steady reliable supply of steel and aluminum is vital. He forced Mexico to increase wages on car manufacturing to make them less competitive. The jobs that have exited the United States will not return. Coal production will not increase in the future. Many things that Trump has done will be undone by the next president. The next president will return to the tables and rejoin and update the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change mitigation. Trump uses the plight of the unemployed, under employed, dispossessed and desperate American public and hold out hope for them that things will return to what they were in the 60s and 70s.

Trump has taken diplomacy out of the presidency. There is a madman at the helm of the country.
