Dweezil will be performing Hot Rats at the Living Arts Center in Mississauga. For those who don’t know, Dweezil is one of Frank Zappa’s sons and has made a career of performing his Dad’s music since Frank died in 1993.

I’m a big Frank Zappa fan but I’m not sure about going to see his son perform his music. But then again it might be cool...I dunno.

Opinions?

Dweezil is a very good guitar player and he brought a very tight band with him at the Phoenix Concert Theater in April 2018. Very good show but physically uncomfortable, it was mostly standing room. I ended the show sitting in the handicapped section. The bouncers were cool about it. He stayed away from some of Frank's more salacious tunes Jewish Princess, he covered most of Frank's history. I was thrilled when he played Cheapnis, that song inspired Harold Ramis (a lifelong Zappa fan) to include the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in Ghostbusters. He ended with Muffin Man as the second encore.

Good show.
