I don't know how much a LL sting would hold in court provided we're not talking about anyone under 18. How could a client not claim entrapment? IMO the law should be struck down based on this alone. The law allows SWs to advertise (ok there are restrictions as to where this should be permitted but it's still allowed) so a client could claim that the tempting ads incited the client to commit the crime..the very definition of entrapment. You could also claim discrimination against gender. When the laws were changed in 2014, we were told it was to make it safer for SW who are for the vast majority female. The problem is, if you acknowledge that SWs are mostly female and clients are mostly men, you allow one party to participate and advertise while the other party participating in the SAME activity is a criminal...that's discrimination...but that's the society we live in...our political "elites" chose winners and losers and right now if you're a straight man, you're on the losing side...we legislate injustice and then wonder why civility is going down the toilet...
that being said...I'm not aware of any such stings...from what I understand, LE is more concerned with people operating in the streets than over the internet. Also, beware of the fake "sting site"...some sites scan escort listings and put BS "sting" titles on all the ads before trying to SELL you porn as a "safer alternative"...that should tell you all you need to know about the credibility of the information.
