    Is marijuana a psychedelic?

I think it is a plant medicine as are all psychedelics when used properly

Get lightly stoned. Turn lights off then lay back. Listen to om chants as they are designed to increase your meditative state. You will soon be in a mild psychedelic state. Be aware of beautiful geometric designs as they may occur. Every trip is different. As your consciousness expands you become aware of issues and thier resolution

Now that it is legal, I suspect it would be ideal for use in psychotherapy

It is not considered a psychedelic.

I have never experienced psychedelic imagery with weed regardless of how much I took and what strains.

Just vivid imagination, dream like state, motor skills and perception being affected and short term memory however never a psychedelic experience.

Maybe what you are experiencing is vivid imagination when lying on the bed with eyes closed listening to om chants unless your joint was laced with some lsd or something else.

Bought weed at store so it was pure

Saw small geometric designs that would move to the beat of the chants. Zillions of them

Hard to explain altered state but feels like a mild trip every time

As with all psychedelics, you should have intent. Have a reason for smoking. An example would be improving relations with people.

I had similar experience but it was enhanced by the music I was listening to. The strain I was on was a hybrid Sativa dominant. I find all strains and brands have different effects.

However, all strains are great when you have sex, fuck the orgasms are so intense it's fucking awesome. I never has better sex in my life and the best parts it's that it's with my wife.

A buddy was just telling me about an experience he had like yours so it might be the same strain.

    Ignoramus, dude, ignoramus.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis. For THC concentrations up to about 10%, which are typical of the cannabis generally available in Canada, the effects are benign. However, THC concentrations higher than 30% can be found in some cannabis strains. At these levels, sustained usage can cause severe and irreversible psychological impairment.

I know a mate who frequently consumed cannabis with high THC concentrations. After imbibing on the balcony of a high rise building one day, he said: "I am Jesus Christ. I can walk on air." With those final words, he climbed on the ledge, took a step into thin air and tumbled to his death. Several studies in Amsterdam have established a direct causative relationship between THC concentrations and psychosis.

THC concentrations tend to be higher in tropical countries due to higher evaporation rates caused by greater intensity of the sun. So be careful in Jamaica and such. Cheers.

Sorry about your friend, and for your loss.

Psychedelic = relating to or denoting drugs (especially LSD) that produce hallucinations and apparent expansion of consciousness. However you are still aware that this is a hallucination.
https://potguide.com/pot-guide-marij...chedelic-drug/ [Is Cannabis a Psychedelic Drug? ~ Weed is not a psychedelic.]

Psychoactive drugs are substances that can alter the consciousness, mood, and thoughts of those who use them. Examples include tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine, and heroin.

This does not sound like psychedelic.

What your friend experienced sounds like psychosis or delirium. Psychosis is a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality. Deliriant blocks certain neurotransmitters in brain and creates an all-encompassing delirium. Look at some videos on YouTube about datura which is some freaky shit and scares the fuck out of me just listening to those crazy delirium trip stories.

Some people shouldn’t be doing weed if they are prone to mental illness or have signs of it.

There are a lot of people who take ridiculously high strains and are totally fine in the psychosis/delirium aspect but get high AF...like this guy.

Word! Sex on weed is really amazing and enhanced plus makes you last probably 3 times as long. However it also makes some guys limp and they can’t get it up. I find it enhances intimacy significantly and I am actually into her and show the tenderness and in tuneness lol it also makes porn awesome and its like you can connect with the women on the videos and can feel them and their emotions. Although feels like it takes forever to cum.

Haven’t tried it with the MPAs yet. Its been a while since I saw one but I am not going to lie I get tempted every fucking day so need to come on terb and take it out on the lounge every time I feel the pull.

The word 'psychedelic' was coined by psychiatrist Humphry Osmond, (who did his work in Saskatchewan, using psychedelics as you suggest) to denote drugs than make your psyche manifest itself, in a way it commonly does not, just as you describe. He and Aldous Huxley competed at naming such drugs and his proposal won out.

As he put it: "To fathom Hell or soar angelic, just take a pinch of psychedelic".

For anyone who wants to educate her/himself and get some perspective on Cannabis, I recommend this film:

    http://http://mechoulamthescientist.com/

It is about the pioneering work and research of Professor Rafael Mechulam on the chemistry and pharmacology of canabinnoids.

Some comments here (and around the world) prove that "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

He discovered that there is something rather unique about Cannabis. That the body has its own endogenous canabinnoid system that produces Anandamide, an important neurotransmitter. Cannabis supplements and stimulates the body's own production of Anandamide...

The name "Anandamide" is derived from the Sanskrit word "ananda," which means "joy, bliss, delight."

    Live and learn...

No. I've done every type of pot, hash, mushrooms, and more. Pot is not a pschedelic. Unless it's laced with something.

So in short you get joy and bliss from both.

There are those of us that don't break the law and stick to legal stuff.

The first time I got high I was 44 and that was when they legalized marijuana, so to have an experience the way I had, I would call it psychedelic since I have no idea what mushrooms, LSC etc would be like.

But one thing is for sure, marijuana is the best thing ever. It's done wonders for my life.

I think marihuana is turning me off porn. I don't enjoy it anymore when I think of the alternative. Also, the longer I wait the better the intimacy is with my wife. We both enjoy it so much and it's doing wonders for our relationship. We used to have lots of fights during that time of the month. Now she smokes a little and she becomes the most lovely woman I know. I thank God every day for his gifts .

    Weed is a god send

From drinking in my 20s (both socially and a little bit after work some days to unwind) to now smoking weed every day in my later years has been the best change in my life. I sleep better, I feel better, I am healthier and fitter, better mood, better sex. Never going back to drinking

It’s the best herb for humans as far as I’m concerned... I love how there’s always mr “THC is too strong in modern weed” in every discussion you come across, it’s like the only bullshit they have left to hold on to because everything else they’ve been told about weed by the government has turned out to be false

I think the only problem with Cannabis is that most people don't know how to use it. Instead, they abuse it.

They think, if a little is good, then a lot must be much better. I have been using it recreationally over the past 40 years. And I can tell you, it ain't so!

BTW, I have not smoked it for many years. Until about 3 years ago, I was vaporizing it. Never on a daily or habitual basis.

Since then, I have been using it medicinally. Really helps my arthritis. Oil from a dropper under the tongue. Dosing very accurately measured. If you are using or contemplating using Cannabis, I highly recommend it.

And it changed my life, also. And my sex life. And my relationship with my wife.

I was really stoned only 3 times in my life: the first, the last, and the only!

And something very few people know: Cannabis was burned as incense on the Altar of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem.
