When you say No field goals, do you mean in football or basketball?
Darts recently proposed eliminating field goals from football because "they reward failure". I didn't like this idea or the one where he says there should be no 2nd serves in tennis. So now Darts says that I am resistant to change.

So now I suggested some other equally meritorious changes.

He made that prediction to his imaginary friends in his imaginary life years ago and we're still waiting for the one serve rule change.

Dart doesn't know hockey and he obviously doesn't know tennis either. Players treat 1st serve as a freebie? That's the whole point. That's the server advantage or for those who can't get aces a disadvantage. If you're not looking to take advantage of your first serve then you shouldn't be playing tennis.
There would be no more serve and volley. No more aces.

"Tennis is a prime example, so it seems strange that players are given not one, but two chances to perform what should be a fairly straightforward task."
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2014/apr/09/breaking-the-law-abolish-tennis-second-serve

I think its worth a debate but let's be civilize about it.

Additional comments:
Badminton: "A team now has only one serve in doubles, rather than two under the old rules."

I know you only get one serve in table tennis, badminton and volleyball and I think but not 100% sure that you also only get one serve in squash, racquetball and handball.

Is it true they are changing the rules to allow a second FG attempt if the first FG attempt fails? Ok, I kid, maybe.

In the NBA, they used to have 3 shot attempts to make 2 free throws.
