Which is why I said no use continuing the debate. I only bring up Laver when someone makes a declaration like "Nadal is clearly the GOAT".Hence why compare who is better a player now or a player from a different era.

Well if you throw in guys like Nastase, then in this era you could add in Murray and Wawrinka, they have 3 grand slam titles each. But that era had much more depth than this one. They were all so good that, aside from Laver, no one else could dominate.
How about an era with Borg, Connors, McEnroe, Lendl, Nastase?
I did not realize that she is that horrible of a person. Phil, will this cost her the Lou Marsh?Watching CP24 she didnt even stop to sign a dozen autograph hunters who had waited for an hour outside her press conference.
Thats not a good way to treat your fans
I didnt say she was a horrible person shack, stop putting words in my mouth.I did not realize that she is that horrible of a person. Phil, will this cost her the Lou Marsh?
Considering how crazy her life must have been since her win what, at first glance, seems like a very simple thing to do, may not have been such a minor task. I think she deserves some slack here and in light of that, the incident probably was not worth mentioning and criticizing her for. Just sayin'.I didnt say she was a horrible person shack, stop putting words in my mouth.
It would have taken her less than 5 minutes to sign a dozen autographs.
Some people are gonna remember those things
Maybe she was too busy to sign a dozen autographs, we'll give her the benefit of the doubt.Considering how crazy her life must have been since her win what, at first glance, seems like a very simple thing to do, may not have been such a minor task. One guy approached her while she was inside the car and she did quickly roll down the window to give him a scribble
Those old racquest did not allow you to generate the topspin to get the ball down when you it it hard. They could hit the ball hard, but it would be out...I would love to see today's players play with the smaller head, heavy wood rackets. No way they can hit the ball with power as they do today. In the era of the wooden rackets, it was like a chess match where you moved your opponent around in order to hit a winner. In today's game , it's all about overwhelming your opponent with power.
I've always thought that if Martina Hingis played in the 60's to 70's, she would have dominated and would have the most Grand Slam titles.
She was a cerebral player, Serena never domintaed her in head to head meeting as Serena only leads 7-6.
Hingis leads Venus 11-10 in head to head meetings
70's/80's tennis was the best, so many great characters, Connors, Mcenroe, Nastate , Gerulaitis, Tanner etc....
