Has McDonald's been putting onion shreds or flavoring into their burgers?

I don't usually go to burger joints now because I'm cutting. But holy chuck has my vote.

That pickle McDs puts into their burger, I love that pickle, it is almost caustic in how pickly it is. All the stuff at grocery stores are sweet pickly. Been looking forever for that kind of pickle.

Actually several years ago my dog was approaching the end of his life due to old age, and had been refusing food and even water for 3 days. We consulted with our vet, and all agreed it was time to put him down, to be done the next day.

He had been eating vet supplied dog food his whole life, and towards the end we were trying to get him to eat by adding boiled chicken and cooked unseasoned ground beef to his regular food, which he would eat for a while but then finally refused.

The evening before he was to be put down I decided to get him a "last meal", and went to McDonald's, where I got him a Quarter Punder with Cheese, plain. When I got home he was lying on his side almost motionless, but when he got a whiff of that Quarter Pounder he scoffed it up like it was sent from Heaven! True story!!

Interesting if true. But are you referring to their new "caramelized onions to be added while the meat is cooking" policy just announced last week, to be tested in Australia and Canada only?

Cuz I've noticed the flavour change for at least the past month or so. Prior to that their beef tasted similar to competition, with no onion overtones, though of course generally not as good as the more upscale burger specialists.
There have been tiny chunks of onion in their regular hamburger patties for years. Can't speak to the other patties but it's quite obvious there's onion in the hamburgers. You can taste it, smell it, and feel it.

Totally agree, love their pickles and ask for extra. Just googled the question and as expected you can't buy a jar for home. They are Mr Chips pickles and sold in bulk: http://www.bayviewfoods.com/mr_chips.html

Don't shoot me for resurrecting this thread, but tonight I tried an "Angus" burger at McDonald's, plain except for seasoning and cheddar cheese.

NO ONIONY TASTE! With the bonus of being better tasting in general than the Quarter Pounder, although a bit more expensive.

Goodbye Quarter Pounder. Hello Angus! (Though still not in the same league as "The Burger's Priest" and "Holy Chuck".)
