yes, I can really do without the Discovery gender BS being shoved in my face in every episode.Looking forward to it. I sure hope they don't give it the Discovery treatment and stay true to Star Trek.
Discovery is completely unwatchable.
I wouldn’t be surprised..Haven't been paying much attention to Star Trek, but is Captain Picard now black?

Hard to say Mr Deeds, E1 Remembrance was a prelude, they didn't go for The Big Bang like Discovery. Only four actors carried the first episode: Stewart, Briones, Brent Spinner and near the end our city's Alison Pill whom I suspect becomes the Science Officer. And you are in the minority, the episode got a 9 audience score. It could be that people are just happy that Sir Patrick is back, we'll see.Watched it last night and I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. Not really sure what I was expecting but it just didn't grab me like some of the other franchises.

Star Trek: Picard looks like a major hit.
Stiscovery had a major problem. They killed of Jason Isaacs who has Shat level charisma. It left a major void which sapped the energy out of S2, the ending came out of left field.
No problem with the latest franchise, as Isaacs is charismatic, Sir Patrick Stewart is magisterial. I had my reservations thinking he was too old to carry a major franchise, he may be pushing 80 but he's got more than a trace of Keith Richards in him. Picard starts off looking comfortable but restless at his La Barre winery. A stranger arrives named Dahj who may or may not be Data's daughter. Isa Briones, who plays Dahj, could have an illustrious career in front of her. She certainly isn't dominated by Stewart in their scenes together. The episode ends with a major cliffhanger.
What makes this series superior to Discovery - Johnathan Frakes is in control. He knows how to plot a Star Trek series, there's just enough action to quicken the pace while the story develops. Akiva Goldman is also involved in the writing and directing, he wrote the scripts to Cinderella Man and A Beautiful Mind and created the sci-fi series Fringe, but I haven't seen that. The first episode met with resounding approval from Trekkies, it has an 8.6 audience score.
I just watched E8, anyone that says it's boring hasn't seen it.
7 of fuckin 9 becomes Locutus II. We are Borg, resistance is futile.
