Hi forum,

First time post.

I’m thinking about visiting Toronto. But I’m confused about your laws, enforcement, rules around seeing SP. I think it’s conpletely fine for two consenting adults to have sex, I don’t know why the US has cracked down so hard on escorts and hobbyists, but there are so many sting operations and tons of arrests. Often police wait in the room for the hobbies to show up to meet someone who is advertised to be of legal age and they still arrest him as soon as he knocks.

Does this type of thing happen in Canada? Have there been stings and other law enforcement activity?

Do you worry about this kind of thing? Besides looking for reviews, do you do anything else to stay safe? And what are the laws? It’s pretty confusing.

Stick with anyone indy, or any agency, that advertises here on terb. Full stop. Then you can relax and enjoy. If you start looking for the cheapest deal on leo list etc is where you'll increase significantly the odds you'll get in trouble.

Dont worry about it here, LE has much more important things to do than bust a tourist for hiring an SP. Come an have fun the ladies love American money.

Let me put it to you this way, this is the same city where a serial killer operated for seven years in an area confined to three blocks and where the public at large kept telling the cops that there is a seria killer on the loose. We're also the same city where two weeks ago a mentally insane killer walked out of hospital, boarded a plane, and left the country. As the previous poster has stated, you have a much higher chance of being shot or stabbed than getting busted for having a date with a lady.

GTA
There are lots of agencies in Toronto which are worse than Albanian Mafia. There are enough reviews of them on other sites about drugs, robberies, drugging people.

I no longer live in Toronto which I believe 90 percent of girls have serious drug problems and will rob you blind. I have better luck dishing out 1500USD for hot model in US rather than a skunk in range of 300-500 here in in Toronto .

In other words he has been banned from agencies for being a bad client, several Indies over the years as well.

And now he is a bitter person.

Off duty LE and bylaw officers in the GTA frequent SPs more frequently than they get raided by a ratio of a million to one.

In Canada, criminal law is all federal. A few years ago a prostitution case got all the way to the Supreme Court, and they tossed out the existing parts of the Criminal Code that made commercial sex between consenting adults a criminal offence. It was rarely prosecuted anyway, except when the sellers and customers got too flagrant, and annoyed the residents. But when the Supremes ruled the existing law improperly interfered with our rights, then there was no law. For awhile.

The Conservative government of the day enacted the Code we have now, more or less trying to have it both ways: It is no crime to engage in sex, even for money, like the Court said. It is a crime to offer — or to pay — money for "sexual services". It is no crime to gratefully accept it. And it goes without saying, everyone involved must be a mentally competent adult, under no compulsion or other improper influence or pressure — like employer-employee, teacher-pupil.

So if the police want to arrest you, the customer (If you were paying attention, you know she is in no danger of arrest) they need to collect evidence of what happened between the two of you in that private space. And that has to prove there was an actual exchange (or at least an offer) of payment for sex. That's a very challenging task for them, and it isn't hard to think of ways not to provide that evidence. Particularly if you remember it's no crime for someone to ask for money, nor for someone to just give it away. Consequently, unless the neighbours are influential and make considerable fuss, the police don't seem to concern themselves much at all with a quiet, efficient, discreet and orderly sex-trade. But do remember, that's only because you, the customer and provider, are wise enough to behave properly. That makes the street-trade particularly unwise.

Agencies and others, who profit from the trade without doing the sex themselves, are supposed to be the targets of the new law. Anything they do that makes a penny is a crime, and anyone on the phone might be a cop. That's why they are faceless internet entities, communicating only remotely with their customers, directing them in careful stages to the rented premises where they'll encounter only the provider(s). Independents don't run the same legal risk; just like the agency girls, their only real concern is what this guy's gonna be like. And any of them can call the police if they have to.

So just to make it all real simple: In Canada, in the business of sex, the customer is always wrong. In fact, the customer is not just wrong but a criminal. However, there are sellers aplenty, behave yourself, give them your money freely, and they'll show you a good time.

In a place far, far away
One word of caution if you are involved in trade or business Trump might order Justine to arrest you so that he can get a one-sided trade that lines his pockets better.

Probably not but they can detain you for 6 hours like what happened to one of my co-workers.
They can detain you longer than that if you give them reason. Most people have no problem. For the OP, do not tell them (either coming or going) that you are going to see an SP. Certainly you have other legit reasons for the trip to use. Have documents in hand and roll down your back window if dark tinted, answer directly and to the point. The easier you make their job, the faster you get through, simple as that.
