But most of them don't want to lose private insurance or their family doctors. Indeed, your guy seems to be waffling on the issue of whether Americans will be able to keep their doctors.

https://www.nationalreview.com/news...-can-keep-your-doctor-under-medicare-for-all/

And much of what the Democrats are promoting is far more unpopular than Medicare for all U.S. citizens. For example, an overwhelming majority oppose free health care for illegal immigrants.
It's easy. Yes they will keep their doctors. In fact it's under private care when you switch insurance companies that you can lose your doctor.

One Payer means every can see who they want. Anyone saying anything else is a damn liar.

You can keep your doctor and your plan, we had that lie with the last guy.

If we were to follow the Canada plan there would be a limit on seeing a private doctor, specialist would be cut, capacity would be cut.

If we simply replace the payer (private to Medicare) its a $4T cost. Anyone who can do math would realize the middle class would actually have to start paying taxes at this point.

Lol. You will pay less as everyone stops paying insurance company premiums, profits, co pays and dedectables.

And please remember that Obamacare was nothing more than an insurance corporate welfare scheme. It isn't anywhere close to a single payer system. It's the opposite.

Why would you lose your doctor? He would be paid by Medicare. He/she probably accepts it now. Most do. So no, it's a flat lie to say that.

But as you've pointed out, private insurance can cause you to lose your doctor. And be denied coverage.

Right? And all you have to do to lose coverage is to lose your job. I don't. Im still covered. With or without employment.

Either you haven't thought it out, or you are a liar. It's that's simple.

Capacity might be cut for the rich, because everybody would have access to healtcare. What an idea, for all people to have access to health care.

I don't understand, why the OTB is so worried about health care for the rich. They will always have access to better care than the poor, no matter what the system is.

As he has said. The 10 percent with gold coverage won't like having to share with the 90% who don't.

The rhetoric is going to ramp up soon. The fearmongering.

Do you really see a Nancy Pelosi leaving her winery or SF mansion to visit a SF clinic. I think you are naive. Americans are spoiled by luxury healthcare delivered immediately, no way the political, media, business, Hollywood elites give that up, no way.

That’s why we pay 2x per capita more than Canada. Fortunately we make more per capita.
No, I don't see Pelosi doing that, but I'm not talking about her.
You can say what you want about AOC, but she's not stupid. She thinks the future of the Dem party is working class, and I can see that.
And it's not because a bunch of Progressives want it that way, it's because their constituency is so much bigger than
the political and media elites will acknowledge.
Big enough that corporate funding may not overcome (see Joe Crowley).

I don't know how many people REALLY believed Trump would win the election, or get away with what he says or does.
Was that naïve?
AOC defeated Joseph Crowley, next in line to Pelosi, resoundingly, without a corporate $.
Was that naïve?

I agree, but it is pure paranoia. The rich will always get better service than the poor. They can fly to London, Dubai, Joburg or India for gold plated health care.

I thought, when I needed surgery, that the wait time was a bit too long in Ontario, so I flew to Minnesota and had surgery the next day.

Now, my SO needed surgery a month ago, and had surgery the next day in Ontario.

Exactly. What government is supposed to provide is the stable floor, so everyone can confidently go about their lives and business securely and safely. Whether that's security from invading hordes, from a thief in the night, from being run down by lawless traffic, from the ignorance of the unschooled, or from being bankrupted by illness or injury, it's all the same stuff. It's all just the minimum that makes it possible for any and every one of us to aspire and thrive by our work.

And as we do, we can afford better.
