I also disagree with you. I think Trump absolutely cares, as they feed his narcissism. He loves it. He also cares as they support his alpha male stance, which men typically have to get defensive about these days. There has been a concerted effort to take down Trump for years, and he is still standing. That is pretty damned amazing.

It is also the reason I consider him lethal in a debate. You cannot prep as facts do not matter, but he will say the one thing that cuts through everything and resonates with people who are fed up with being told they are too racist, or too privileged, or too whatever while they struggle every day and try to do the right thing. This is what the democrats have still not figured out. It is also why Trudeau is the most hated prime minister in my lifetime (maybe second only to his father).

The blind and deaf supporters of Trump here have decided to ignore the repugnance in Trump telling these Americans to go back to their own coumtry.

The problem is exactly that Trump does not see these women as Americans. That is why he beyond any rational doubt is racist.

Sadly, it makes the people, who find his behavior justified, also racist, no matter how eloquent they express it.

I, for whatever it was worth, wished Trump would win over Hillary in the election. But with "send them back" Trump crossed a red line for me.

There is a difference though. They would have to first know that you're a foreigner to tell you that. For non-Whites it automatically assumed that they are a foreigner. Has Trump ever told a White person to go back where they came from? Would he, without first knowing that person is first or second gen immigrant?

Black Americans must be tired of hearing "Go Back to Africa."
