Why is it just the US who keeps being criticized about slavery? Every fucking advanced country in the world was not only practicing it they were exporting it. A lot longer and a lot harsher than the United States ever did.
The US Constitution was written in 1787, more than 230 years ago. It is one of the greatest documents in the history of mankind. No denying that. I believe that it's influence actually helped end slavery not reinforce it.

For those who think this is strictly about racism I suggest you look at the evidence uncovered to date. Now I don't know if it's a violation of the US tax code to file a joint tax return with someone when you're still legally married to someone else. Even if you are living with that new person. Maybe OTB can help answer that question.
There is substantial circumstantial evidence uncovered over the course of 3 years that warrants further inquiry. Namely that Omar married her brother in 2009 in order for him to gain entry to the United States, attend university and receive benefits.

I'm not an American immigration lawyer but I think the U.S. could revoke her American citizenship if this is a criminal offense.
