Guys,

I want to be on the safe side for myself and want to get tested. Can anyone recommend any clinics in Durham area? Are these discreet or cost anything?

I don’t show or have any symptoms at all but I started to get paranoid after seeing YouTube videos and some say Some STDs don’t have any physical showings or anything. I’m 100% healthy downstairs, no bumps, sores pimples, redness... nothing.

Any advice is appreciated.

There are Sexual Health Clinics in the Oshawa Centre and the Pickering Town Centre. You will need to book an appt ahead of time though. Have a name, birthdate and phone number ready to give them. Free and discreet.

All johns who are active yearly with different partners should get tested twice per year. That's bare minimum

Better hurry before Ford cuts off most of the funding to Health Units, fewer offices will result in longer lines.

Thanks all. Are the results immediate? Or can I get them later via phone or email?

Just moved back in with the GF. I can't get caught.

You'll get results later via a phone call (though I'm sure there's a clinic out there that does email). They do their best to be discrete about it.

Results can take a week or more to come in. Be aware that not all STIs will show up immediately on these tests. Some (like herpes) have incubation periods of a couple of weeks, before which your bloodwork likely won't show anything until you're already demonstrating symptoms (unless you're an asymptomatic carrier, in which case things are more complex).

Regardless, get tested often if you're sexually active with more than one person so that you can identify any STIs early to minimize your risk of transmitting it to a partner.

If you are married they send a copy to your spouse positive/negative . . .go to the US if you are married and have doubts.

Loyal Order of Water Buffalo Lodge No. 26.
if you have aids, by law they have to out you
If you have aids and fail to disclose that fact to a sexual partner before engaging in high risk (bare penetration or covered penetration with a viral load above 1500) then you are committing aggravated sexual assault. And deserve what you get.

Sexual Heath clinics do not disclose anything to your doctor if you ask them not to. It can remain completely between you and the clinic. Even before taking a test you can ask what they will do with the information. Its optional to tell people, they arent obligated to inform your partners and neither are you. They will offer to do it anonymously and sit down with you to help you recall and find the information but you arent forced to do anything. I did have a friend who I had working in this business and she made some poor choices she had essentially been passing around ghonnorhea or something for quite some time before it showed up on a regular pap test. She had no idea. She did call and text everyone... but im sure you know how that went. She doesnt do this anymore but I mean at least she knew what the right thing to do was. It ruined her business, but she knew to let people know and step away from it. A doctor or nurse will tell you too, the only way to get rid of the infection is to get treated, telly our partners so they get treated, otherwise you run the risk of getting reinfected over and over again. Someone can go a long time not knowing they have something. Some older people dont get tested at all.
