That is why I didn't get too close to the downtown crowds. I had a bad feeling and expressed to my friends that I was worried someone would get shot. I stayed a bit further east of the downtown core. You couldn't have paid me to be in the midst of that.

When I say this please do not take it as belittling your fear. You have a right to feel any way you want based on your experiences. However, over 2 mill people and maybe 5 people injured? I'm no math expert but the odds are in your favour.

The authorities did try to limit the crowd size. I was on my way to Nathan Phillips (don't tell my boss) when I heard on the radio: "Do not come, Nathan Phillips is at capacity." So, I watched the proceedings on TV which is actually better for coverage.

To-day, the big news are bomb threats against secondary schools. It's always something.

The lead story on all international news websites was not the exuberance of Toronto the multicultural city but rather something like this: “4 wounded and 3 arrested as shots fired at Raptors victory parade.” The image of Toronto the beautiful was marred in one fell swoop. That is the sad part.

However, it could have been far worse. Imagine if the stampede had engulfed the whole assembled mass? Catastrophe would have ensued in front of the Prime Minister, assembled dignitaries and a global audience.

After the Danforth unprovoked shooting, you would have thought the Toronto police would have done a better job by forming protective rings around the crowd. Instead, they continued in their lackadaisical ways as if we live in the sixties. Shame on the murderous perpetrators and the incompetent police.
Just curious...how many cops does it take to form "protective rings" around a crowd of 2 million people spread over several city blocks? And what is this protective ring of which you speak?

Toronto is one of the fastest growing cities in North America - shit happens.

I opt to focus on the positive, that "getting to know you" dinner Kawhi and Kyle had last summer worked out well - dontcha think?

Please explain how the Police can be expected to know who in a crowd of 2 million people are carrying a knives or guns?

My incompetence comment was not directed at the front line cops but to those who designed whatever security system was in place - starting with Chief Saunders, whose capability seems limited to after the fact comments

Nathan Philips Square had the highest density of people with all the dignitaries assembled. That is where protective rings should have been formed so that whoever entered the core was screened for weapons and explosives - a standard practice in New York during dropping the ball on New Year's Eve. Imagine the carnage if a suicide bomber had set off explosives in the middle of that crowd or if the gunman/men had fired in the middle of the crowd?

NY City Police: 36,000 officers , $92 BILLION budget
Toronto Police: 5,000 officers, $1.1 BILLION budget

Toronto had neither the staffing nor equipment / infrastructure to do what you are saying. They can't budget and staff weeks / months in advance on the premise that a sports team might win and have a parade.

Cant wait to hear which 'race' was the shooter

The police say they are looking for a white male.
He is the one that did the shooting, the three other people arrested are not the shooters.
Now you know what race he is.
Hopefully they catch him soon.

That clip was taken on the ride to Drake's Vegas party. The first one was taken down so I found another.

Kawhi is the Carlos Castaneda of the NBA, who knew?

I don't think he even had any champagne the other night.
I didn't know that Tiberius. After 14 Seasons without a sniff at the NBA Title, Marc Gasol made up for Kyle. Eric Moreland making sure he didn't fall out of the bus.

This is what we know so far. The 3 suspects arrested have been charged with various offenses and appeared in court to-day. Yes, they look like they are ---- , can't say more because "racist". Apparently, the police are also looking for some white guy.
