The UK brings in 75% of its agricultural products, 80% of the pharmaceuticals used in the UK are from outside the UK. Other than haggis, scotch and some petroleum what else can the UK offer Trump?

That's all grown in India.Tea! Oh please be tea.
I love when history repeats itself.
So? They could still get to dress up.That's all grown in India.
Well put. It's all about breaking up the EU to benefit Putin. Putin, Murdoch, Trump, BoJo, Farage, Bannon. They all play on the same team.
The UK and the US have little or nothing to offer each other as a trade deal partners. They are both post industrial shipwrecks whose trade is in intellectual capital, tech and financing and which both glean manufactured goods from the Third World. They have little to trade with each other.
Very true, the problems with the US economy are massive and the Trump policies will only make the worse faster.Well put.
The current trade war President Trump started against China and some other countries, has not resulted in a stampede to return traditional manufacturing to the USA.

America’s Collapsing Because it’s the World’s First Poor Rich Country
Trump makes fake hope for the uneducated working class American. An example of this is the 25% tariff on steel and 10% on aluminum, claiming that it was in the interest of national security. He claims that America needs to have in-country manufacturing of these materials in case of an emergency. With the tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum in place the American steel and aluminum manufacturers immediately increased their prices by 20% on steel and 8% on aluminum. None of the US steel or aluminum manufactures were interested in spending millions/billions to update and re-open shuttered foundries. Now that Trump has rescinded the steel and aluminum tariffs, the fear that a national emergency could happen has disappears. Trump has just caused hardship on American industry that uses steel and aluminum.Well put.

I have no idea why there is this romantic attachment to the European Union. The German export machine has been killing everyone in the European Union. Germany is a rich, mercantilist country. Different, more flexible policies would give the U.K. and other countries more tools to combat this problem. It's all about breaking up the EU to benefit Putin. Putin, Murdoch, Trump, BoJo, Farage, Bannon. They all play on the same team.

Either way, current unfair trade practices make China wealthy at the expense of the U.S.Well put.

Huwae has been stockpiling semiconductor supplies over the last few months, they are now reported to have 6 months of supplies on hand.Either way, current unfair trade practices make China wealthy at the expense of the U.S.
If manufacturing strategically relocates to India, Vietnam, Thailand, etc, the Western world will be far better (and safer) for it. The situation in Hong Kong should serve as a reminder to anyone who wants to make a big investment in China.
