maybe she does not intend it to be mean, maybe she means it jokingly haha darkies haha :p

if it soumds rqcist to you, you’re free to say so. i dont care if it is racism or isnt. The world has racists, it’s not a crime to dislike people based on color, it makes you ignorant and dumb as a rock. i am glad when pple
say they’re racist because i want nothing to do with closed minded pple lile that. so please go agead and identify yourself so i can stay away.
Agree completely. Well explained. She actually could have just been grouping several groups together, rather than name each. It's not racist in my opinion if it isn't used in a deragatory way.

Just because you mention a race and skin color of another, is not racism or racist act at all, words and definitions should matter. This is dumb.

not sure if trolling or if godwin’s law is real
I think Godwin, himself, has rescinded the "law" status of his statement. It's actually important to go "full Godwin" because L'Orange and his "good people on both sides" nonsense is now a thing, thus obliterating the cautionary spirit of Godwin's Law.

Good point. She probably could have expressed this in a more polite manner. Example: "For Aryans only..."

I would agree that mentioning race, skin colour, sexual preference, etc is not racist on its own. They can indeed be descriptive terms. However, some terms/words and the intention they represent ARE racist. Would you suggest that terms like “Darkie”, “Nigger”, Paki, Zipperhead, Faggot.....etc aren’t racist terms and don’t bring racism with their use?

How would most of the ladies feel about being called a “whore” or “hooker”? Would you be ok being referred to as a “trick” or “John” by an SP? How about no Fat Guys or Assholes?

Personally, I have chosen to stay well away from this provider.....I don’t support racism or racists. And my bet is her attitudes would bring a whole lot of other things I wouldnt want to be part of or enjoy

Damn. I just realized she is actually Russian Nessa who I briefly referred to on the Nessa thread since someone confused her with my busty blond beauty. She now calls herself Diamond Shines. I guess this is what passes for a sexy name in Kingston!

I think you went from "water gun" to "bazooka" with your examples a bit there, and some terms are definitely backed by hate you exampled, and hate speech is wrong on every level and agree with you.

Is "black man" racist? Is "dark man" racist? Who gets to decide? It's almost impossible based on words alone, as it's the intent (and harm) that matter most.

Racism is real, but needs to be assessed on the context and intent, and should be applied to all groups / races equally in order to get it under control. No group gets a free pass based on the past, we move forward.

I just think if it isn't motivated by hate, it isn't necessarily racism, as racism is an act of hate in my opinion. The person saying it can still be an idiot, and you'll know to disregard.

The use of the word "queer" in reference to a gay man or woman is a hot topic on YouTube right now (Vox vs Stephen Crowder). Its in the acronym LGBTQ all the time, but can't be used unless you're part of the Gay alliance?

Over-policing of the language we can use is a very very slippery slope. Very curious where we end up.

I'm not saying it's ok to use any of the terms you listed, but as bbbj_anal_cimsw pointed out really well above, let people speak their opinions and expose who they are, and we can all discriminate who we associate with accordingly.

I'm not sure where you are from but 'darkie' is exclusively used in a hateful context where I'm from. I agree with your points broadly speaking but your whole 'she might not have meant it' argument falls pretty flat to me, as you say context is important and to have a topline that says 'no darkies' coming from a white woman is pretty much all the context I need to know. It's obviously an exceptional use of language if we are all talking about it on this thread.

I agree. It’s a Olympic level mental gymnastics to parse those words into anything but negative.

OK, what would be the best way for her to say that she does not want to see people who look like: black, mulato, Indian, Pakistani, Arab, Kazakh, Chechen, from nations that end with "tan" (Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, etc.) and any non-white aboriginal people from any islands in any oceans (excluding England). Should she just list all the nations/ethnic groups? What is a politically correct way to describe them in an SP ad assuming we allow SP to turn down the clients she does not want to see and assuming she does not want to see "darkies"

You've illustrated your ignorance by indicating that Chechen people are dark-skinned. Also a lot of those 'tan' countries you refer to have large demographics or ethnic groups that are Caucasian.

To answer your point with just a few examples: "no dark skinned clients, white clients only, white and asian clients only" (dunno what her particular preference is) are just numerous ways you can be less offensive. I've seen numerous other SP ads express their preferences in a way that doesn't result in a racial slur. Your argument seems to revolve along the lines of 'using a racial slur is more convenient than typing out a few extra words, so she should do it'.

Maybe it's not as common a racial slur in Canada but where i'm from 'darkie' is on par with saying the n-word. There is no 'politically correct' nuance about it, it's a straight up insult that I've only ever heard used in reference to black people. It only takes a quick Google search for consensus that the word is deemed offensive.

One theory I have is that as English isn't her first language, as such she might not be fully aware of the implications of the word. People here defending use of words like 'darkie' and the mental gymnastics involved (well put Nesbot) have no such excuses.

I couldn't have said it better Mreffect! This is almost year 2020 and we would think that us humans have evolved from this kind of stone-age attitude.

ding, ding, ding: A finalist for the Olympic level mental gymnastics that Nesbot mentioned. Come on, fall, you're trying sooooo hard.

Well, since, as I understand, the girl is Russian and I lived in Russia for a significant time, let me give you a Russian perspective:

1) In Russia the word "negr" (literate translation "negro") is not racist at all. It is a commonly used word analogous to "African-American" (or whatever the current PC term is) in Canada.

2) At the same time, given almost non-existence of true black people, Chechens (as well as Georgians, Turks, etc.) are actually called "black" (with no racism involved - it is simply used as a descriptive word with no negative meaning unless it can be inferred form the contexts), or "black-ass" (when the negative racial meaning is intended).

Again, given that the girl is Russian, she simply uses familiar non-offensive language and translate it into English as well as she can. I have no idea why in U.S.A. a completely standard word "negro" become taboo (unless said by blacks themselves), changed with "black", which became non-PC as well, then goes "African-American". I am not sure if African-American is still politically correct or it became offensive too and was replaced with something else.

Youre conflating the words Negro n@gger and n@gga.

The fact that you can’t tell the difference is troubling.

The term “darkie” is plain and flat out RACIST PERIOD. Those defending her probably fall in the same boat. If you don’t think it’s racist go find a black man in the street and try calling him “darkie” see what happens.
