In the past 12 seasons just 4 teams have hoisted the Stanley Cup. I got the first 3 pretty easy - Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago. Took me a minute or so to get the 4th - Washington. Of course should have been the easiest since they just won last year.

C'mon BLUES!!!!

Is there some reason that wins by the Kings ('12 and '14), Wings ('08) and Ducks ('07) don't count in your books?

Not that I am surprised but you were not even close. It is 7 teams, not 4 in the last 12 years. Hahahaha.

Maybe you should have taken more than a minute. Thanks for the laugh.

I actually took it from my twitter feed I didn't come up with the number. Obviously that person is incorrect as am I. Totally forgot about the Kings. I think he was including this year as the 12th season which would eliminate the Ducks. So 6 and maybe 7 teams in the past 12 seasons. I stand corrected.

I probably couldn't have named them, but just thinking about it for a second or two, one should realize that it doesn't sound right. Especially when it was common knowledge that last year was Washington's first, , that would mean only 3 teams in the previous 11 years, which then means at least one team had to win a minimum of 4 cups and no one has been that dominant since the Oilers and that was 30 years ago. It is called critical reading, i.e. not just automatically accepting what we read without considering whether it makes sense or not. It is a good policy to follow. That is exactly why I checked what you posted. It didn't sound right.
