Visiting TO and am excited to be able to eat at different, delicious places! What are some of your recommendations? Last night I celebrated International Whore's Day by eating a 3 course delicious meal at ANTLER and it was amazing. I ate a duck heart! Well, 3 of them. I love fancy places but it doesn't have to be like that--what are your local hidden or not so hidden gems? (Bonus points if you, you know, take me there)

Trattoria Nervosa - Yorkville. Went there for lunch and it was one of the best meals I've had. Ever. Not the place to go for an intimate meal. It was quite noisy (because it's so busy).

I don't personally go to fancy places because in my view many are overated, expensive and you're still hungry when you're done. So you have to stop at McD anyway lol.

I love little holes in the wall. That's why I love the show diners, drive ins, and dives. In the USA the food culture is huge esp little mom and pop places with great food.

Now back on topic. One place I love is messini this is a Greek place on the Danforth. The gyros are amazing and they prepare them like in Greece with the fries inside the pita. I also like either Bamiyan Kebob for good Afghani food or Paramount foods for great Lebanese food.

Other places include Meat place in North York that has great Turkish stuff.

Now if dessert is your thing g there used to be a french Creperie near Spadina subway called Crepes a go go.

Finally, last place I went to was up in Vaughn a pan Asian all you can eat called Ichiki great food.

All you can eat and great food are mutually exclusive. Anyone who considers the Golden Arches as tops has gotta be 12

@superstar88 I guess no ichiki for you! (Take on the soup Nazi from Seinfeld) hahaha.

I get it tastes are relative. Totally understand.

Via Allegro in South Etobicoke, great food and one of the best collections of vintage wine and scotch in Canada. Micheals on Simcoe is the second best

There's something like 16,000 places that serve food in Toronto. What kind of food do you like?

It depends on what I want at the time.

If I had to pick one it would be a tie: The Queen and Beaver or Yitz's Deli.

...nothing too fru fru.

Btw, they're an Italian Restaurant near The Queen and Beaver called Frascati. I was excited, finally a place that serves Frascati (Italian Beaujolais) in Toronto. Except that they don't have any Frascati, that was a downer.

Too true!
Super unfortunately for me, I cannot eat chicken, turkey, or fish. So that gets rid of some things.
Besides that, I like SO MANY THINGS. I'm drawn to healthy shit that's done super well. I also love delicious, fuck it, unhealthy things. I'm drawn more to things like seasonal, changing menus that arent specifically from one particular part of the world. Although I love Italian and French food. Red meat, BBQ, vegetables, thats mostly my jam.

When you are ready for comfort food, try the Brisket at Cherry St BBQ.

Best you can get north of the Mason Dixon line.

I eat out often and all over the GTA. Here are some I recommend based on their location.

Downtown:
Jacobs Steakhouse
Rodney's Oyster House
Bymark
Chase Fish & Oyster

North York
David Duncan House-Steaks
Auberge Du Pommier

Vaughan
Zizi Trattoria
Fiamma Ristorante
Cia Roma-Pizza

Etobicoke
La Castille
New Orleans Steak & Seafood

Top Gun Burger is really good with a couple of locations around the city.
