Support for the Progressive Conservatives has “collapsed,” according to a new poll, while Ontario Premier Doug Ford is now less popular than Kathleen Wynne at the end of her time as Premier.

A Mainstreet Research poll released on Thursday puts the PCs in third place behind the Liberals and the NDP, with just 22.4% of decided and leaning voters saying they would cast a ballot for the party if an election were held today.

The poll found that 39.9% of decided and leaning voters would support the Liberals, who are without a permanent leader, and 24.2% would vote for the NDP under Andrea Horwath.

Yup we were stupid enough to give the clown a majority... we deserve the clown show. Perhaps this lesson will save us from a Scheer majority govt

Problem is there is too much waste in the government. Toronto has supervisors with one or two direct reports making $100k+

Directors with 3-5 staff in more than a handful of situations making approximately $200k at the City of Toronto.

Many of these positions are being created under Tory's administration. Also the Mayor is responsible for the creation of several Deputy Mayor positions.

Ex-City Manager Peter Wallace left because his warnings about unsustainable spending fell on deaf ears. Though Wallace's solution was to raise taxes above the level of inflation. The new City Manager has no clue when it comes to fiscal responsibility in my opinion which is exactly what your City Council wants.

Who are these supervisors that are making 100-200k directing 1 to 5 staff?

Which of the positions that you have alluded to were created by Tory?

How much are these Deputy Mayors paid?

Is that why Peter Wallace left? I believe Wallace stated that revenue must be increased to match the job of city building.

Why do u believe the new city manager has no clue regarding fiscal responsibility and that is what council wants?

Ontario's government already spends the least per capita of any province.
We have a revenue problem, not a spending problem.

According to Ipsos, if an election were held tomorrow the Liberal party would receive 32 per cent of the popular vote, up 12 points from June 2018. The PCs would receive 30 per cent, down 11 points and the NDP would receive 29 per cent, down 5 points.

Dumb DOFO's Honeymoon period is over!!
If those numbers haven't been massaged seat-by-seat to fit our unbalanced electoral landscape, I'd bet they'd still give the Tories the government. The liberal votes are in the cities, where they count for less.

You beat me to it. It is in Ford's interest to minimize the impact of the urban vote. Can he jig it so there would be less ridings in Toronto like he did for the municipal election?

Who cares! Ford's going to be there for another 3 years. A lot of things can happen in 3 years. The poll was probably conducted in Rosedale. Fake news.

This is just the start of the downward slide for the DumbDOFO Government. It will only get worse and will not surprise me if he gets even more unpopular than Wynne was at the Ontario Elections in 2018!!
