NANOS POLL: Conservatives Hold 5 Point Lead Over Liberals

Trudeau turned out to be a big disappointment. Canada is back LOL

Scheer leads as preferred PM.
The Conservatives maintain a 5 point lead in the Nanos poll, similar to the margin they had last week.

Here are the key numbers:

Conservatives – 35.9%

Liberals – 30.6%
NDP – 14.2%

Greens – 11.1%
Bloc – 4.0%

People’s – 1.1%

Scheer also leads as the choice for ‘preferred PM.’

28.6% pick Scheer, 27.9% pick Trudeau, 10.0% pick May, 6.8% pick Singh, and 1.8% pick Bernier.

The Nanos poll generally shows the Liberals doing better than most other pollsters do, so to have the Conservatives with a consistent lead is a sign that the damage to the Liberal brand and the Trudeau brand is having a lasting impact.

Considering all the negative press lately I would think the lead should be larger.

If the Fed Cons are smart, they will decline any campaign assistance from DoFo. His popularity in Ontario has tanked, and he's been in power less than a year.

The right winger Contards always have a double standard, be it with the polls or the deficits, jobs numbers or the economy. Let's put it into perspective. Under Trudeau, we have had the best job numbers in over 40 years. The stunning jobs created in just April was around 110,000. Under the previous Harper Government, he boasted when in one year the job numbers were around 70,000. The GDP in Canada is one of the best in all the G7 countries. Let us look at the deficit. Yes it is a small deficit that was created but it paid off in terms of real jobs created as well as one of the best economies among the G7 nations. Let us look down South where there are similar good job numbers. But look at the ballooning deficit of more than $2 trillion that was added. Yet the right wingers have a double standard there, as they never bother to mention the deficit that has come at a cost. Similarly they now look at the polls that show Trudeau in a negative light, but of course called it fake when he was up in the polls, and will make excuses for Dumb DOFO's poll numbers!!

The Liberals lost a lot of credibility with their mainstream supporters because of the SNC affair. Although I do think that asking Wilson-Raybould to reconsider her non-acceptance of a DPA was justified, it was very badly handled. The Liberals wind up looking corrupt, and probably sent a lot of voters to either Green or NDP. There is not enough time for the electorate to forget the affair, especially when Wilson-Raybould and Philpot are looking to run for another party and will keep the issue alive in order to improve their electoral chances.

The Liberals also have this habit of pissing off lots of blocs of voters.

One million Mandarin speaking Canadians are not likely vote Liberal
2 million holders of firearms licenses are going to turn against the Liberals after they announce the banning of handguns and a few, presently legal scary firearms.
43,000 Western farmers are pissed off and facing financial difficulties because the Liberals ruined relations with China
Most of Alberta is lost to the Liberals, due to their failure to move the oil to market.
Milk producers are pissed off because of a Liberal sell-out to the Americans.
First Nations are angry because of the firing of Wilson Raybould.
Civil Servants are angry because of the handling of Phoenix pay system fiasco.

Now Sheer just has to keep his pie hole shut until the next elections.

That's the problem for the Tories. He has to campaign. Unless he gives a "no comment" to every question - which itself will attract comment - he's going to poop his pants.
