In a house somewhere
Question for the olive aficionados on the board.

Where can I get good quality olives to buy east of Toronto, ie, east of Yonge street including Durham?
I have been buying the supermarket variety in the bulk/deli area. I know they're not the greatest but they have done the job. But I am now looking for a better quality olive, whether from a bottle or bulk.

You cannot beat St. Lawrence Market for Olives. You will find almost every variety of olives there in the shops that sell cheeses, and cured meats. Try the shops that are on the first floor on the east side of the market.

Second to the Market. Lots of anti pasto options there.

+1 Any decent cheese shop/deli should also have a selection of olives.

Adonis supermarket has an olive counter with a large selection. I love olives! :)

Farm Boy is also a good place, as is, believe it or not, Pacific market in Pickering at Liverpool and Kingston Road, if i recall correctly.

Amy, we live in the same area. I am trying very hard not to fall into the temptation to visit you. If I do, then I will probably find it extremely difficult to subsequently 'kick the habit'! And, especially if olives are involved, along with good crusty Italian bread, cheese and wine. :)

You’re not gunna find a recognizable brand name at Winners/Homesense. And you probably won’t find the same kind on a subsequent visit. I have purchased some really unique grocery items though and they’ve always been of great quality at reasonable prices.
