This is why I will never own a car with internet capabilities and I will never have one of those Google or Lexa things. There is far too much intrusion into our lives these days

If they are smart enough to hack tesla they will be smart enough to build their own and by the time they figure it out tesla will already push more advanced system. Elon addressed this during his presentation at the autonomous event. I suspect other car manufacturers are more vulnerable to this vs. Tesla. Would be a lot easier for hackers to gain access to these systems. Geohot (aka the first person to jailbreak an iphone) is now working on hardware and software that does this exact thing.

This was also a 60 minutes story from a year ago. Hacker took control of the car including steering, accelerator and brakes.

Mine's a 2006. I doubt any hacker has that much time to waste. Another reason not to spend money on the latest model.

Just saw a program showing how hackers can hack your house if you are using smart devices. For example they can control the locks, temperature controls, electrics etc. And they can listen in on your conversations. It took them less than a minute to hack the passwords. Why anyone wants this in their house I do not know.
