I`m 61 so not likely the oldest guy on Terb. I retired several years ago and purchased my plan with Manulife as I`d been with them on my employers coverage. I`m on year 3 so my coverage is pretty good with the Enhanced Plus Plan for about $1900/yr. Now... when you reach 65 drug prescriptions are covered by the Gov`t . Any input on trying to drop that private drug coverage or do you figure it`s worth keeping? My script use is nominal and any of these insurance companies will clip you from every angle like Rogers or Bell etc. Thanks, RZG.

Is full-body (Swedish or Lomi Lomi) massage as a
therapy for the elderly covered in your plan?

Not all drugs are covered. You need to determine if the drugs you require, or are likely to require are covered. Some type II diabetes drugs are not covered. Viagra and Cialis are not covered, neither is testosterone replacement therapy. Deductible is 100 per year.

I'd wait before cancelling any private insurance because you never know what the Ford/Christine Elliot duo will cut next. Just yesterday they were talking about canning OHIP coverage for foreign travel.

This is true! The difference in premium would be minimal , keep things the way they are!

Wow, if they do that a bunch of snowbirds will return and rip them to shreds. How much does it really cost the govt.

OHIP coverage during foreign travel was only $400 per day. If you're relying on that only, then I'd say you're reckless, as a hospital room is typically $1500 per day. OHIP foreign travel coverage was very marginal, and relying on it could easily bankrupt you in case of emergency
treatment in the US.
