In addition to Mueller laying out the groundwork for Congress to take over the disposition of obstruction of justice as an abuse of power by Donald Trump he also, get this, states in a footnote:

That the evidence of the Special Counsel Investigation be preserved so that once the sitting President leaves office, criminal indictments for obstruction of justice may be brought forward.

18 U.S.C. § 1503 defines "obstruction of justice" as an act that "corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice."

Overview

Someone obstructs justice when that person has a specific intent to obstruct or interfere with a judicial proceeding. For a person to be convicted of obstructing justice, that person must not only have the specific intent to obstruct the proceeding, but that person must know (1) that a proceeding was actually pending at the time; and (2) there must be a connection between the endeavor to obstruct justice and the proceeding, and the person must have knowledge of this connection.

§ 1503 applies only to federal judicial proceedings. Under 18 U.S.C. § 1505, however, a defendant can be convicted of obstruction of justice by obstructing a pending proceeding before Congress or a federal administrative agency. A pending proceeding could include an informal investigation by an executive agency.

Take your pick.
No prosecutor will touch that with a ten foot pole. It would be the end of their career. With the exception of Kim Foxx in Illinois since her career is basically over anyway.

I note that you have no rebuttal to the predicates that constitute obstruction of justice as codified by US law and as committed by Donald Trump, just a rhetorical acknowledgement of it.

I'm not a lawyer so I don't pretend to know something that is not in my wheelhouse. Fair enough you think he's guilty of it put up or shut up. Name the bet.

funny how the report clearly established that Russia heavily interfered but trump sees no reason to revisit his Helsinki comments that he trusted Putin over his intelligence agencies. Or say a word about future russian interference.
Damn, voters are stupid.

Put up your dukes.

I follow the facts and evidence as laid out in the Mueller report and Mueller clearly agrees that Trump committed obstruction of justice times 10.

Trump just stated that parts of the report are total "BULLSHIT". Wow, talk about a factual and evidenced based statement highly reminiscent of many of the Trump supporters statements in this forum.

Right!!

Almost as insane & weird as Mueller using MEMES as evidence posted AFTER the 2016 election in the Concord case right?

They said Russia wanted Trump to win how? By posting MEME's on facebook.

One image was so effective in taking down US democracy that it got 104 Facebook comments.

104 casualties? $104 million fraud?

No.

Desperate!

They used DNC/Hillary paid for Russian propaganda Dossier to the tune of multi-millions as the BASIS for spying on a political candidate and then the duly elected President. Trump knew this from the GET GO!

The Mueller report read like a political novel! It was RIDICULOUS!

Maybe Trump has a better indication of what the "Intelligence Agencies" are really up to.

Quick review of some of the parties involved:

James Clapper - former Director of National Intelligence and CNN shill - Perjurer who faced no repercussions for lying to congress for his "Not wittingly comment" regarding spying on Americans

John Brennan - former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and CNN shill who voted for a communist candidate in 1976 - may have committed perjury when questioned about his knowledge of the origins of the Steele Dossier - After speaking ex-cathedra about Trump being a TRAITOR when the Barr's summary was released replied with "I guess my information was wrong"

Adam Schiff - Chair of the House Select Intelligence Committee - still refuses to present to anyone his "preponderance of proof" that Trump colluded with Russia. Occams razor points to him being just another self aggrandizing liar.

I agree, the shit that Trump did and was uncovered by Mueller is ridiculous.
Trump even received confirmation through Cohen that the Russians were going to kill the piss tape while they were working together on the Moscow Trump tower that Trump lied about.

O

First he needs to be impeached, then the lawsuits can start.
Mueller investigated operating under the view that a sitting president can't be impeached, that's up to congress based on the evidence presented in his report.
How's that impeachment watch going for ya Frankie? What comes first, Frankie's retirement or the long awaited impeachment?

I made some changes for greater clarity.

It's only natural for a normal rational person to think about stopping an unwarranted investigation in a "crime" that never happened.

Query: How is it possible to obstruct justice when there is no crime?
Exactly.... so why did he obstruct and get so hellbent out of shape trying to discredit Mueller's investigation if he was clean??????????????????????????

The threshold for "obstruction of justice" is high as it should be. Simply musing about firing the special prosecutor is not obstruction of justice. Actually firing the prosecutor might be. He did not fire the prosecutor. He thought about it and he talked about it but he did not fire the prosecutor.

The Democrats are pissing into the wind on this one.

Trump is too moronic to successfully collude. Putin did it on his own, but Trump knew . Trump was acting guilty though, so he was worried about something...peepee tapes? Shady business dealings?? The truth about his Hair!!!? Hence the obstruction of justice.......

It wasn't for lack of trying.

Mueller found that Trump tried incredibly hard, sending out teams, meeting with Prince, calling out publicly and the Trump Tower meeting, all in order to find the '30,000 emails' of Clinton.
Problem was they didn't exist, so Trump was conspiring to fulfill a conspiracy theory and failed because he's an idiot who can't differentiate between reality and conspiracy theories.

Mueller did find that he conspired with wikileaks on the release of the dems emails, however.
