I have played gold stocks for 30 years. They have never done me wrong. Many hate them because they dont know how to play them and they listen to the guests on BNN too much. I once around 1997 picked up Eldorado Gold at $.25 cents. Yep a quarter. It went to over $20 ten years later. I unfortunately sold it at around $3.00. I still did well, BUT. Eldorado has been my Mistress for over 20 years. It has been my favourite stock and she has never let me down. I picked up Eldorado this time just before the 5/1 consolidation. I picked up 150,000 shares @$.75. And after the consolidation I had 30,000. Well the 150,000 @ $.75 cost me $112,500 plus broker fees at TD. Well I sold them end of March at $6.75. I picked up a nice profit of $90,000. That is the reason Eldorado is my favourite and I call her my mistress. I was so happy I had a heck of a weekend. I saw Stunning Miella, Bianca White, Celina Banks and a couple agency girls. I was totally beat. But I toasted Eldorado Gold every time. The ladies had no idea WTF I was talking about. LOL.

Would like to hear anyone’s thought on the gold sector.

Same for me, for about 20 years. Nowadays I mostly sell covered calls.

I find gold and commodity stocks too cyclical for my taste. Gold is probably rising now as a hedge against inflation because Canada and the U.S. are printing money at breakneck speed. Canada's debt is now north of $1 trillion.

Gold: Kirkland Lake, Alacer Gold, Alamos Gold, B2Gold, Yamana Gold or grab the Vaneck Junior Gold
miners etf in the US if you are ok with a little more risk (but etf diversification helps alleviate)
Silver: Pan American, First Majestic
Oil - Cenovus if under 6 bucks. Suncor but only at and under 21 - it had a bad week last week after releasing Q2 results. Canadian Natural if it gets back down to 22.50 or less. Be patient with the oils. Or just XEG etf

for oils might want to wait to see effect of additional supply coming onto market this month from OPEC Plus. Might push price of oil down into 30s.

hell if oil drops again I am backing up truck for Parex Oil.....made a ton with it last few months.

Parex for oil and Kirkland for gold are both DEBT FREE COMPANIES.I think that they’re almost no brainers to accumulate positions in over time...

There is a glut of oil in this world and everyone is staying at home. ( around the globe ) I am expecting lower prices in oil in the short term and would not go near it until the virus is contained. If you go gold, go big. Stay away from the lesser known gold stocks.
