Everything fell flat due to the shortened seasons. It’s pretty clear greed is what made this happen. Now it’s time for spin offs and whatever merchandise they’ll come up with. It’s basically Star Wars for this generation.

The outline for characters was there but the execution was poorly handled. I liked the endings the characters got as it seemed like GRRM wrote them to end up like that. But there needed to be more character development across the board. A lot of scenes were just dramatic music and character walking/running

For me, I said to myself "I thought this was Game of Thrones, not the Life of the Starks"

What would have been cool is if one went in each direction of the world. Instead of two north, 1 south and 1 west. Someone should have gone east. Even if it made no sense. Lol.

At least then you could say the Starks are conquering the world. But this ending was lame.

I’m sure after 10 years, the primary actors were begging for death.

It could be that Daisy Ridley is feeling the same way, Star Farts is stunting her career.

The Raptors got in the way last night. Watched the finale today, it was proper. They gave it a Wagner touch without the complete destruction of Westeros, but they hinted at it. Drogon melting down the Iron Throne will go down as one of the great scenes of the entire series. I'm probably going to replay it several times in the upcoming week. Who knew dragons had a conscience. Jon Snow did his duty to avoid Gotterdammerung (Wagner), Gray Worm excepted the verdict to avoid further Civil War - proper. Thrones fans withing their petition to redo S8 was dumb, everything played out as it should have. It wasn't The Americans but it was good enough.

In closing: Sir Sandor Clegane isn't a lot of feathers and not much chicken!

What next?

Sophie Turner got the benefit of working with Jessica Chastain at Kit Harrington's expense. The Death and Life of John F Donovan bombed, JC left to work on Dark Phoenix then reunite with Antonio Muschietti (Mama) on It: Chapter II. Natalie Portman took her place. JC doesn't take on bad projects and she's known to be very supportive of her fellow actors. Score one for Sophie.

Noticed the dragon didn't kill Jon? Did he know he is a Targeryan ? But he sure burned the throne...did he hold the throne a symbol of Danys death? He picked up Dany with a claw and flew away..can this mean that there will be a followup series. Considering the success of this first one..I'm not surprised if we get more in the future..

First half of last night episode was great. I wasn’t a fan of the Disney ending

My middle son was laughing his ass off, kept going on about how I had wasted 10 years, for that shit finally, well at least they had a good laugh, because after J killed D, I was just begging for the dragon to kill everyone and finish the most painful of finales I have seen.

We gave HBO a break after the Sopranos, we justified the end, but this one please let's be honest. We got 5 great season, 2 so so seasons and one disaster of an 8 season. As some one wrote in an article, they could have dealt with the Night King by adding 3 episodes to season 7. Then develop season 8 to have the show down of the Queens.

For the shit we got, we didn't need 10 years to finish the story. They could have done the same thing every season.

And John talk about a disaster, all the good he did destroyed by a terrible story line. I believe this show just killed his Hollywood carrier, because every time you see him now, you will think back to the crap from last night.

I think everyone who is bitching about the ending should remember what Ramsey Bolton said about Happy Endings.........

Drogon knew that his mother's obsession with power, power that was symbolized by that throne, resulted in her death. I suspect that he even felt guilty about being the vessel that carried out Daenerys's fury. And don't forget , he lost 2 of his brothers in the war. I guess Drogon figured he'd put an end to all the madness. I also suspect that he transported her body back to old Valyria. That scene was brilliantly done. I wish Drogon all the best.

All in all, season 8 was a disappointment. Mainly because it was rushed and of course Danny turning out to be a tyrant. (Yes, the signs were always there, I get it.). But still her turn to madness was heartbreaking for many viewers and many felt it was over the top. But that Danny did need to die, and it was both tragic and logical that Jon was the one to do it.

Only episode 6 was well done in my opinion.

But let's face it, the series was being funnelled by its story line to end up in a series of battles exactly like it did. There was no other way.

And as far as it goes, it would not matter what they wrote, half the people out there would have been pissed off no matter what.

The author has already thrown the TV show under the bus, blogging that he will write a totally different ending in the book cycle.

I disagree. I thought episodes 1 and 2 were the best, even though they were set up episodes for the duel with the Night King. The writing in those two episodes made logical sense, the characters acted in believable ways, and we got a lot of interesting character interactions between characters who had never met before or were reuniting for the first time since the early seasons.

Episodes 3 to 6 all had shaky writing, even if there were some good moments thrown in. Some moments just didn't make sense. Some characters went wildly off their arc. It was bad enough that by halfway through the finale, I didn't really care much for how each character's storyline would end, which is pretty tragic after 10 years of caring.

Well We all loved Dany because she was treated like shit by her brother and seemed so meek. She started to fuck up , once she burned the father and son soldiers (I forget their names) then this latest fiasco..

The Tarly's. Samwell was the younger son.

I'd say it goes back to watching her brother killed. Then the numerous killing of slavers.

Samwell was the older son.

His father despised him as he grew up because Sam was a fat bookworm. So at some point the old man decided that he wanted his heir to be his younger son - Dickon, and not Samwell, so he told Samwell that he needed to take the black, orelse he ( Sam) would die in some unfortunate accident.

The old man was quite the piece of work.

I stand corrected. I'd say he came out ahead in the long run......
