Hey guys,

I was wondering how discreet the lobby is at Doubletree Hilton on Dixon, I don't want to have to talk to the receptionist.

Thanks for any input!

You don’t have to talk to anyone. Just park your car at the back and there’s an entrance at the back. The elevator is on your left.

The rear door may be locked after a certain time, most hotels will do this for security. If you ask the sp beforehand where the elevators are she’ll normally give good directions so you can walk in confidently and go straight to them. I’ve never had to speak with the receptionist or been asked if I need help.

have no worries rookie... never been questioned at any of the airport hotels - i think there's just too much traffic for them to bother

Roles reversed...we never have to talk to them either for outcalls. I’ll always nod and smile and keep on walking confidently. Just don’t dress too provocatively. Might tip them off.

Yes this is a good hotel, walk on like ya own the place, turn right after going through the doors and head straight to the lifts /elevators. There are 3 entrances....from the North is the main, from the south via the parking lot (and you can navigate the chairs in the lobby and head straight to lifts which will be on the left), and from the east through Turtle Jacks. There is a bathroom on the way out of TJs so you can use that on your way up. I've perched down there at TJs had a vodka on the rocks whilst i awaited my lady to give me the head up signal. You won't feel like you're being scrutinized. I've done incalls and outcalls there, always felt comfortable.

Many memories of the ex Skyline Hotel.

These days it's not worth booking a room there unless you get one with a hot tub. Too expensive and there are better hotels in the area. Ginko's is a great Japanese restaurant, or it was last time I was there.

Wear nice dress pants and a collar shirt, and you shouldnt have any problems walking past the receptionist desk.

Dont wear old jeans and a t-shirt

GTA & Thereabouts...
Haven't done the Airport hotels yet as I'm a bit chicken, but I've seen LeoList ladies in the odd budget hotels. So far, I just roll in looking confused; find the stairs or room and keep walking.

While I've been stared at, I've only been questioned once - Hotel Dude = "Can I help you, Sir?", me = "Nope! Just seeing a friend!", Hotel Dude = "OK!". (I'm pretty sure he knew).

This might be the only thing ever said. I always respond upbeat and happy and even at times engage in conversation. If you're acting in a furtive manner then you draw the wrong eyes. I'm always on travel when out at airport so I'm usually dragging a bag thus never an issue.

anywhere i want;)
the doubletree on Dixon used to be the Travelodge ; it recently underwent a nice reno. I stayed there once and my clients never had any issues coming up to the room. The lobby is pretty spacious so you should not have any problems

We're both right, Doubletree and Delta have switched places. Last time I was in the Airport area, the Delta Marriott was located at Dixon-Skyway. The Doubletree has moved to Dixon - Carlingview, confusing isn't it. Ginko IS at the Marriot - at Doubletree's old location.

Haven't been to Arizona's since the Vaughan Subway extension opened. newbie1414, never been to the Carlingview location...good luck.

And to add another layer to that confusion, there is actually another DoubleTree airport hotel! The DoubleTree Airport West @ Dixie & 401.

Granted, it's not as bad as the 3 Marriott Hotels downtown; Eaton Centre, Rogers Centre, and Yonge/Bloor.

Who cares what anyone thinks? Like kherg007 said, just walk in like you own the place. The only issue's I'd ever have is at a place where there's a concierge or security code required to enter.

Just walk in like you're supposed to be there.

If you don't feel comfortable going through the lobby when your date is through, find out if there's a side entrance you can leave by.

But honestly, if the lobby is busy and, again, you just walk in like you're a guest, the staff will probably assume you checked in when they weren't on shift.
