I hear this a lot from feminists and feminist sympathizers a lot: "strong woman". Every time I hear it it makes me laugh cause I look at the women in my family and given what they have gone through those are truly strong women. It seems feminists have confused women multi-tasking (i.e., running a household and taking care of their men and family and working full time ) with being strong of character, integrity, morality, etc.

I think our mothers and grandmothers faced real hardships that would break many of today's so called strong women. For example, how about all the women that survived world war 2 or the Nazi camps or any other hardship in life ?

A lot of the feminists in rich countries don't realize how easy they have it here. First of all like aries Spears the comic said no matter how ugly every woman has a scholarship between their legs and in the workforce they have an easier path to climb the ladder solely because they are women. The only other group that has it easier at work is gays. Hell now with metoo they've scared away men men to hit on them. So god forbid they get cat called or complimented in public.

I am really curious. Can someone tell me what today's feminists mean when they say they are strong women?

If I am wrong I'll say I'm wrong and stand corrected.

Thank you

It's a term that's used so often that it has no meaning.

Sidenote: Be skeptical of individuals that have to constantly reaffirm that they're "strong" and "proud" as if their whole life is predicated on grandstanding and slogans. Those individuals are usually the weakest.

Proverbs 31:10-31 New International Version (NIV)

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

You have good feminist and bad feminist....

In some parts of the world good feminist do a great deal of good work, like Malala and Maria Tun Cho:

María del Carmen Tun Cho, a 46-year-old q’eqchi Mayan woman and mother of six, ran the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday in the traditional clothing—including sandals—of her hometown in the Guatemalan department of Alta Verapaz.

Wearing number 21447, the q’eqchi athlete says she’s running—as she always does—to promote the rights of women. She’s a frequent competitor back home in Alta Verapaz, where she also runs wearing her traditional “güipil” and sandals. In both 2017 and 2018, she won the master category in the Ak’ Wank race in northern Guatemala.
She was then selected to run in the Behobia San Sebastián race in the Basque Country last November. The LA Marathon is her second international competition.

As NBC4 reported:

The brave woman says that she competes to carry the message of equality for the female sex, but that she would also like to win, although she knows that her poor diet puts her at a disadvantage with other runners.

“What I eat is nothing more than beans, tomatoes, chili,” said María.

During a conversation with NBC 4 sister station Telemundo 52, María accepted two things: the first, to send a message in her language “q’eqchi” to all the women and, the second, to test her speed with Telemundo 52’s sports presenter, Saúl Rodríguez.

Then you have the bad feminist who believe a man should be found guilty of sex assault simply because a woman said so.

You are 100% correct. My grandmother was a strong woman. Raised 9 children on a fraction of what these so-called feminists of today had. And she still lived to 90 and had the respect of each and every one of her children and grandchildren

Depends on what your definition of strength is. I tend to view people (not just women) as being strong if they understand the value of vulnerability, honesty, integrity, sincerity, and kindness. It's subjective and I think perhaps an individuals definition says a lot about who they are, or strive to be.

A strong woman? Someone who forms her own opinions rather than borrow them from social media and popular culture.

Oprah Gail Winfrey. Can’t believe she is not on this list. I don’t know anyone stronger or more influential who consistently over time has proven her persistence, perseverance, influence, inspiration and just keeps getting stronger with time. She is a true spiritual warrior. On top of all this her 2019 net worth is 2.6 billion.
