Yes, I agree that they did so. That is the scary part. They did it in Chile when they helped to take down a Democratically elected Allende, and install a brutal dictator in General Pinochet. Apparently, that so called investigation as late as 2011 claimed that Allende "Committed suicide". We know that it led to thousands of civilians being kidnapped, jailed or even murdered.
