I'd like to someday live in Europe before it's too late for me and I get too old and I end up being stuck here for life.

Anyone here has any tips to move to Europe legally? I'm too old for the working holiday visas besides at that time in my life I was paying back student loans and helping family here. It wasn't a good time to leave Canada.

Any advice how to land a job over there and move from there to get residence then citizenship? I have a friend that through a US company was sent to Europe has been there over ten years and now he's an EU citizen. Lucky guy.

I apply for jobs on LinkedIn but it's tough going. What have you done to land a job over there. What did you love about it what did you hate ?

Do you want to live in Western or Eastern Europe?

Ideally Western Europe. I've looked into places like Lithuania and Estonia but those are harder places since I don't speak the languages. I knew a few people from Serbia and that looked like a gorgeous places.

Funny story. Years ago I had applied for a job in Brighton UK. The HR girl calls me. She says to me why would you want to come here? I was shocked I didn't know why she would ask me that. Years later I found out by chance that apparently Brighton is one of the epicentres of gays in the UK. I guess she was shocked a single guy would want to move there lol.

I have been in Brighton for 4 months and it is a gorgeous coastal city with beautiful beaches and unique vibe. And yes it is one of the prominent gay capitals in UK.

You can visit most Countries for 3 months, it's easy to extend visit to 6 without question. However, in 2021 there is going to be a new system for those visits that will apply to most Canadians as well:

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/us-citizens-need-visas-to-visit-europe-in-2021/index.html

This is something to consider looking into for longer visits:

Some Countries are easier to get into than others, just do your homework. Maybe hit up an immigration lawyer.

I am in my 30's. I am still trying to make good money. When I become financially free, I would just spend 90 days based in Germany banging all the girls in FKK. Take a month break back in Canada, and go back again.
I like the way you think. Though I’d probably go to other countries as well like Thailand or Costa Rica after taking a break in Canada

@bazokajoe many people including Europeans would say the same thing about Canada no? They might say (I) bad weather (2) weak culture and (3)small dependent economy on the good will of USA. Just cause you don't fit in in Europe don't poo poo on others.

Before Trump didn't you ever wonder why the best and brightest decided to go to USA rather than here ? So many examples: Alexander Graham bell, Tesla's Musk, many PhDs here including many of my profs in uni.

No I didn't wonder.Don't really care.
If so many people "why Canada" then why are so many coming here? Really don't think anybody cares about culture when looking to move to another part of the world.Bad weather? Europe gets worst winters than we do.
