It will be so funny when the province allows them to separate, and then amalgamates Brampton into it, making it part of the city of Mississauga anyway.

Not a new campaign. I thought they had a stronger argument 30 years ago when Mississauga was booming and the rest of the region was farm land.

Ford is obviously targeting Patrick Brown. My hunch is Peel Region will become a single tier municipality. Bonnie Crombie will be elected the first Mayor of Peel City provided she plays her cards right with Doug Ford.

Everyone in Brampton will hate themselves for voting in Patrick Brown and his career in politics will be dealt another tough blow.

GTA & Thereabouts...
Mississauga wants out as they’ve used Peel to fund their development. Their turn is over so they want to split.

I can’t see a “Peel City” happening this early on.

Why would they stop there? If there's logic to what the Conservatives did to Toronto, then the MegaCity of Mrs. Sauga should swallow Oakville and Caledonia as well, and give the former Peelers the same high quality services, infrastructure and efficiencies HogTown has enjoyed ever since The Sainted Duffer saved us from running our own affairs our own way.

Maybe Caledonia, but I think it's too small and undeveloped to be bothered with.

Oakville isn't even a part of Peel region, it's part of Halton, so it definitely wouldn't be swallowed.

If anything Oakville and Burlington would be amalgamated with Hamilton.

Of course, no one can tell where any of them stops and the next one starts, much as folks can't tell whether a SC or MP is in TO, 'Sauga or Brampton. And if you're a Preem set on dismantling the Regional Municipality of Peel, or the Regional Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, what do you care where the boundaries are? You're re-drawing the whole thing.

But wouldn't it be nice, if just for once, one of these guys (and that includes Mayor Crombie) actually had a considered plan that was thorough and thought through enough to need more than a single napkin?
