I don't like the way Trudeau has handled this SNC story, but here is the predicament. Politicians do meddle in the judiciary on behalf of big business. It is a fact of life though they can't come out and admit it. The Conservatives do it too ( especially on behalf of big oil), and that is what shows Scheer's ridiculous shenigans during the budget speech as a desperate and blatant attempt at kicking off his otherwise directionless electoral campaign. This non-story doesn't even merit a thriving Terb thread, let alone serve as a reason to disrupt Parliament during an important speech. The economy is doing well and all he's got is SNC and stoking the fear of non-oldstock Canadians.

The Conservatives and NDP behaved like hoodlums in the Parliament in the way that they were trying to disrupt the budget speech.

The jobs creation was the strongest that we have seen in 40 years. The economy has done pretty well, although there is now a global meltdown and it could trickle down.

What happened, Trudeau is too defferent and Jody Wilson Reybould is insane. Harper would not have allowed this to happen. SNC Lavalin has always been staunch federalist, if they are forced out, separatism will be revived.

Trudeau has been consistent about one item of his agenda wealth distribution. He's willing to take on a bigger deficit to allow more Canadians to benefit from our strong economy. The job market is deceptive, purchasing power is just as relevant as employment. The share of the economic pie for the middle class has been shrinking, in that sense Trudeau is keeping his promise. Not for him the plutocratic tax cuts that allow the %0.1 to buy another private jet at the expense of everyone else. Gordon Brown, David Cameron and now Trump are all guilty of regressive tax shifts.

As for Scheer, this is the type of sloganeering that got him beaten pink by Vasy Kapelos. Which begs the question: does he use his cock as a muffler? it's cold in Ottawa.

And despite what you hear from the press, the majority of Canadians and those in the OECD countries all actually want more government services and higher taxes on the rich.
Tax the rich and give us more services, Canadians say in OECD survey

Its worth looking at the US as a failure of democracy, where the plutocrats elected enact policies that represent the wills of lobbyists and almost never the electorate.
Even here, with the media harping on high taxes, they miss the big picture. Canadians, and a lot of the world, are scared that they can't make a decent living and afford basic housing.

LOL!!! Trudeau is redistributing what he ain't have, hence the massive budgetary deficits that just refuse to balance themselves.

Better than giving crumbs to the minimum wage earners, along with huge tax breaks to the very wealthy and ballooning the deficits to the tune of trillions and trillions of dollars.
Crumbs in deficits compared to what a certain POTUS has created down under, and the same hypocritical cult followers that denounce Trudeau here, fail to accept that fact!!
