Are there other members here without any other social media presence?

It wasn't my thing from the beginning when everyone was just posting what they ate ( do they still?) because they had nothing else to share.

None. They are sick toxic environments. Whole new set of psychiatric ailments arising, according to a shrink friend of mine. Does not surprise me.

Plenty of Fish used to make me chuckle. Ladies, DO NOT use your real first names on there. On Facebook, if you punch in a first name and the town they are and do a bit of searching you can pretty much find a profile in 5 mins if they use the site. I never have, and never would ,make contact through FACEBOOK but I have found out that more then a few ladies like some side dick, and lie like shit about anything you can think of on POF."I won't use my last name " really doesn't work in the social media age.

I have no social media presence. I don't see any upside to it.

Nothing, unless Yelp counts as social media but I think it's halfway between that and a review board (and I refuse the app, too many permission requirements).

I toyed with the idea of a couple of fictitious Instagram accounts for circulating my own rants & memes but since FB runs it I don't think I will, at least not until I can afford a disposable 3rd phone or tablet to on a prepaid service not connected to me.

In addition to no social media, I don't run any live apps, I don't even have mobile data, and I do not install apps that require permission to contacts, images or memory card.

I also do not pay with debit or credit - I refuse to participate in the outrageous fees they charge to merchants - I believe the consumer and merchants should both be getting 2% COMMISSION when they use electronic payment as a reward for all the valuable data it generates and never paying any fees whatsoever except penalties for missed payments and such.

Facebook. Don't spend much time on it. Have about 20 friends all of whom I know from real life. Got in touch with friends I have not seen in over 10 years. Use it as a phone replacement for locals I need to communicate with. Tracked down the girl who got away and got some closure from 25 years of missed opportunity.

I'd say time well spent.
