During this time period, there were 113 Islamic attacks in 20 countries, in which 813 people were killed and 818 injured.
All just in the last 30 days, eh. Would all or almost all the victims be brown or black people?

We were already downtown so we thought we would head over to Nathan Phillips to pay our respect. Very disappointing. All the speeches and all the talk was about New Zealand, Quebec City and Tree of Life Synagogue. Unless we missed it no word about victims of Islamic terrorism.

why did he go to Pakistan an islamic country?

He did not only go to Pakistan. There were numerous other countries that he visited. Apparently he liked the food in Pakistan. Anyway, this murderous terrorist has to be categorically condemned.

At least you're upfront about your racialized view of the world.

Good thing no one used the term "terrorism" to describe actions in Ireland for a few decades (or were both sides secret Muslims).
I AM Irish and there is no terrorism in Ireland

Show me anyone who ever claimed Irish were "terrorists" (excluding insane liberals)

An IRA faction just claimed credit for bombs sent to London and Glasgow. Do you think that isn't terrorism? And there had been decades of terrorism in Ireland and by Irish terrorists in England.

It seems the US and Canada listed numerous Irish groups (Protestant and Catholic) as terrorist entities and the CIRA is still listed.

I imagine NZ has strict gun laws?

It was crazy watching the video of him just leisurely walking in and slaughtering everyone and doing the same on the open street.

Apparently, he or an accomplice was chased off at another site where 7 more were murdered, by someone that had a gun.

Until this tragedy I never knew gun control is so lax in New
Zealand. I wonder if this guy did not strike in Australia
because of stricter gun laws there.

CBC posted pictures of his clips.

During his unprecedented, livestreamed shooting spree Friday in Christchurch, the gunman exposed his apparent fascination with the religious conflicts in Europe and the Balkans — a volatile region that has been the site of some of Europe’s most violent clashes.

His soundtrack as he drove to the Christchurch mosque included a nationalist Serb song from the 1992-95 Bosnian war that tore apart Yugoslavia. The song glorifies Serbian fighters and former Bosnian Serb political leader Radovan Karadzic — the man jailed at the United Nations war crimes tribunal in The Hague for genocide and other war crimes against Bosnian Muslims.

The gunman’s rifles contained the names of legendary Serbs and Montenegrins who fought against the 500-year rule of the Muslim Ottomans in the Balkans, written in the Cyrillic alphabet used by the two Orthodox Christian nations.
I have friends and family who were killed in the 1992-95 Bosnian war led by the worst war criminals untimely led by Radovan Karadzic. I saw videos of what happened to people who couldn’t escape the villages in Bosnia especially the elderly and young when these villages were taken back from the Serbian army. I could not believe and still can’t believe what horrible things people were capable of doing after seeing the raw footage because one of my relatives was a general and he wanted me to see the truth.

This guy is a sick fuck...hopefully there are not others like him out there lurking.

Is it just me or does anyone else think it odd the name of the city where this horrible tragedy was committed?

I would expect there are quite a few more sick fucks like this guy out there, people who populate the same yellow vest/populist/anti-immigrant sites that some of this board seem to quote.

Condolences on your loss. What happened in the early 1990's was just the latest chapter in a long history with many chapters.

"Since Serbs were, and still are, predominantly Eastern Orthodox Christians, their first significant historical encounter with Islam occurred in the second half of 14th century, and was marked by Turkish invasion and conquest of Serbian lands (starting in 1371 and ending by the beginning of 16th century). That interval was marked by first wave of Islamization among Serbs: in some regions, substantial minority left Christianity and converted into Islam, willingly or by necessity, under the influence of Ottoman authorities.

Not sure if any of you read the shooter's manifesto, I've read most of it. It's clear to me that the shooter, while not formally higher educated, is an intelligent individual. He had the foresight to know what questions would be asked about his actions. He put significant thought and planning into this. It almost seems to me like he had some assistance or inspiration from an organization or group. I hope the authorities do significant investigation into this guy's background and ties. Could be a network.
From what I’ve read there are many online forums and communities where white supremacists gather, exchange literature, discuss ideas, and otherwise support each other. Some people are referring to it as White Isis but the difference is that Isis is a formal organization with leaders, recruits, etc. These white nationalist communities seem to develop more from the ground up as people with similar beliefs find one another online and cluster together.

Another day, another terrorist attack or two.

22 Afghans killed by the Taliban.

15 killed in Mali.

Where and when are the vigils?
