I'm thinking of selling my spare bike when the weather eventually improves.

Question: Which is the better advertising platform? I've used Kijiji in the past but I get inquiries from quite a few weirdos.

you'll get the most traffic with kijiji in my opinion, but if you want to limit the amount of so-called weirdos, then perhaps, as Wigglee suggested, facebook marketplace

Kijiji, hands down. I sold a lot of stuff on Kijiji and the experience has been very positive. The results were not as good with CL

Won't that double the number of weirdos that come calling? I'm hoping maybe Craigslist has a higher class of "clients".
I think there are an equal amount of weirdos on both sites. You have to play it smart, always meet in a public place like Starbucks or McDonalds.
Take a picture of the guy you're selling it to and also take a picture of his license plate (assuming he has a car).

Also check the bills he gives you to see if they're not counterfeit: https://www.narcity.com/ca/on/toron...ake-canadian-bills-that-look-really-authentic

Kijiji works well but it helps to limit useless email responses if you say you won't respond to "Hi, I'm interested! Please contact me if this is still available." unless they provide more information or ask questions. It seems people use this auto response feature when they have no interest in the item for sale.

Enter what your are looking for in the search window at the top , as if you are looking for a person, the algorithm should recognize you are looking for an item and the return results should be in the Facebook market place. It helps a lot re buying / selling an item from someone if you know who they are ; imo there is a less chance of getting scammed.

Kijiji imo is much better then Craigslist in Canada (the Craigslist userbase in Canada has really died in recent years).

Definitely facebook marketplace (yes just log in & go to that section)
But also cross post on kijiji and Letgo

Most stuff I sell is on fb marketplace for sure. You can also post into selling groups that way too!

I think I will definitely try Facebook Marketplace. For some unknown reason I think Facebook has a higher calibre of clients.
Do you have to use your real name? I'm trying to minimize my Internet footprint.

I wasn't aware that Letgo is now in Toronto. What is their URL?

My concern with cross posting is that the same person might respond to all 3 ads.

once your logged in , enter marketplace in the facebook search . It should appear, click on it ( you may join the group). Then you'll be prompted to sell whatever you want.
