Senator Sanders has now hired Falz Shakir as his Campaign manager. Former national director of the ACLU, adviser to numerous party leaders, well known as a progressive who bridges gaps.

He is an excellent choice both for messaging, managing, and keeping an eye on ensuring fairness in the process.

Senator Sanders has recieved the Endorsements already of both Senator Pat Leahy and Rep. Pete Welch, both of Vermont.

A good start.

You do realize that we have to wait for the reaction from the "official" Washington? I think that there will be a strong push to sideline him. So far, the consensus candidate of the DNC powers that be is Harris.

Hey Butler, do you agree with Sanders or Trump on this:

What’s crazy is that we have a president who is a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and a fraud. We are going to bring people together and not only defeat Trump but transform the economic and political life of this country. Let's not forget:

"a pathological liar who has done what no other president before him has done, which is to purposely divide the country and also sell it out to foreign interests for personal profit."

It will be a tough call for him to choose between Bernie and Donnie.

Choice, no choice needed for butler, he's always only ever been a Sanders supporter, never Trump.

The Superdelegates have no say in the first ballot.

And note no one else has recieved an endorsement. I'm betting more on the way.

But that is minor. He raised 1 million in 3 hours after announcing and 3 million overall first day. I noted lots of comments in various forums of people setting up auto donations.

It's a long road. But he is quite organized and has a motivated base.

And if Bernie does not run for president in 2020, who would you support?

Would his last name start with a "T", have a "rum" in the middle and end with a "p"?

But what is your opinion of Senator Sanders announcement?
The more candidates the better. He has raised $6 million, that is considered to be a record in such a short period of time.
Agree with most of his policies, but definitely not the tariffs!!

Booker, Castro, Harris are fake. People know that by their political record and in Booker's case Ties to Big Pharma.

Klobuchar has in fact declared herself a centrist. Delaney who? He is a non entity. Gillenbrand doesn't have near the national footprint.

Warren has a shot with the progressive wing.

Btw you Forgot Tulsi Gabbard. The two time Iraq Vet who is being trashed as a Russian supplicant by NBC since she came out as anti war.

I only see Harris and Biden getting the backing of the money. Maybe Knobuchar if those two falter or Biden doesn't run.

The rest don't have the machine Bernie built. He will have so much money in small donors. Alot of volunteers. Him and Tulsi have been talking. I think she is in to raise her profile and then be his running mate.
I didn't forget Gabbard, she's listed. It should be noted Gillenbrand hasn't declared candidacy, she's still in the exploratory phase.
The biggest knock against Bernie is that he's an old white male. Many progressives will not support him or Biden. That helps a Harris or Gillenbrand or even a Hillary if she decides to run again.
Also if Sanders gains traction and is in a legitimate position to be the Dem candidate, surely a Schultz or a Bloomberg will launch an independent run.
There are too many factors playing against him. Nonetheless, a pretty impressive start to his fundraising campaign. I guess a 4th property is in the cards.

He is. The point is moot.

I notice you haven't declared support for anyone. Just commented on my decision. Care to weigh in on the Dem field?

I have no idea who will win the nomination -- but whoever it is has a big problem on his/her hands.

A centrist candidate (eg., Biden) will have to reject much of the agenda that's attracting support among young voters, such as the Green New Deal.

A socialist candidate will likely get killed in the states the Democrats need to flip in the general election.

It's a tough choice.

I think the old white man knock is a few Twitter trolls and pundits.

That crowd is tiny. Most people will look at the Senator's stance on war, healthcare, and Wall St. And vote on that basis.

Shultz is a non starter. He won't get enough support to even make the debates. And I don't think Bloomberg is serious either. Unless he has already put a machine in place it's too late.

The rust belt will be the Senator's. Nevada as well. Florida as always will be a toss up but alot of Seniors will look at healthcare as worthwhile.

I'm seeing a movement here that will include alot of new voters. People who didn't vote because of the Dem choices of centrist candidates.

I see you being the true Trump fan sorry I meant Sanders fan, you'd surely chastise your supreme leader Trump and be in full agreement with Sanders. But many people have pointed this out yet you've refused to comment on it. Again if anyone is really wondering "you are a Sanders supporter" since you keep telling us over and over again ;)

It is, its probably because he keeps saying things we both agree on, like this:

What’s crazy is that we have a president who is a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and a fraud.
