Value investing is the Warren Buffet approach. Buy solid undervalued stock and hold for long term.

What is the best way to find such value stocks? Right now I buy value funds or look at what they bought and emulate.

Is there such a thing as a value index fund?

There is Berkshire Hathaway stock which is virtually a Warren Buffet value fund but way overpriced its intrinsic value. How is that for rich irony?

I would like to discuss potential buys with other value investors over the net, but to meet in person would be great.

The best thing to do is to start watching particular stocks in sectors that you like. Read quarterly reports which can be confusing at first but you get the knack of it quickly. When a stock goes down for no particular reason then you take a position and continue to watch, if it goes down more without bad news, then buy some more. Nothing beats buying a high dividend stock at the low end of its range.
