Still trying to get my head around the fact that some stupid young adult tossed a chair from a balcony with no regard to possible consequences. I'm generally pretty forgiving but when I see that someone has no regard for life...I'd like to see her spend her 20's in prison. Maybe that would wipe that stupid smirk from her face.

There was a teen throwing golf balls off the overpass on highway at cars a while back as well
They know there is no consequences to these actions

From what I heard chair girl is not even Canadian, so what are they going to do throw her in prison?
I bet she pays a small fine and leaves country

Too late to discuss this.
People’s outrage has moved on to more pressing matters now.

Never saw a bus stop but seen many cars stop

I still remember one where some old guy started yelling at teens in front of my highschool and EVERYONE started throwing at him and he was freaking out
Very funny

How is what she did any worse than drivers passing cyclists with no room to spare, or speeding down streets where kids are playing.

Any of these acts are illegal, and put other people's lives in danger while they are simply - and lawfully - going about their daily business.

You can speed down the street and not get caught.

You can speed down the street and get fined.

You can speed down the street and hit someone who innocently crosses your path, injuring them.

You can speed down the street and hit someone who innocently crosses your path, killing them.

You can drive (under the speed limit) down the street while over the legal limit for intoxication, with any of the above outcomes.

Each of these sets of scenarios have you doing the exact same illegal act, yet the punishments vary widely. And so it is no different with the idiot throwing the chair. Just because millions of drivers break the law Every Single Day doesn't make their actions any less stupid.

Judging by her appearance on the news when she was leaving court, she seemed to enjoy the limelight.Any sentence will have no effect on her.

People just like piling on with their righteous self-indignation. I've never thrown a chair off a building but I did stupid things as a kid. Not to this level where there was a significant chance of killing someone (which this was btw) but kids are stupid.

She should be charged, if for no other reason than to make an example of her since this has now become a media thing and if you don't then other people will copy cat. But turning her into a hardened criminal by locking her up for years is stupid. I'd rather fine the shit out of her, give her a criminal conviction that she can work to get off her record in time, and move on.

This story is a whole lot of people being outraged because they just want to be outraged. And the media is equally guilty of sensationalizing this story and pouring fuel on the fire.

It was bad. They caught her. She's being punished. Move on.

That's a little harsh, don't you think? I mean even the TTC face eating BC guy is walking around a free man today.

Something like this actually happened to me once. I was driving a convertible, pulliing out of my building garage, and all of a sudden I'm getting pelted with something coming through the trees. For a second I thought it was hail. I finally realized what was happening, a bunch of kids were throwing rocks off their balcony. Pissed me right off. I caught one in the head.

I think every kid did that back in the day. We also threw at cars. Were chased many times but we never got caught.

This is not throwing snowballs at cars. Not a valid comparison.

They should have blocked out her face on TV. She loved the attention.

Lock her up!!

Agreed, at least six months in jail. She is said to already have a criminal record and she might benefit from a bit of tough love. Is she a kid, the answer is no. Had she caused a casualty or fatality then what would the victim impact statements look like and would she have that grin and media fanfare that she got? She is not ugly, but not that attractive, implants, short and squat and obviously attention craving whether the attention is due to positive or negative actions. The courts are soft and liberal on some while brutal on others.

People should be aware they are crossing a street and expect cars may come along. Speeding grossly I agree is just as stupid and dangerous but no one expects a chair to fall on them randomly
