This is about right, should matthews even have gotten Mathews money? Plus all of their better players signed for significantly less which doesn't help. Why would anyone ever not sign for the max to play in peg?You have to go short term with Laine. 3 Years at 6-7 mill. No way he gets Matthews money...I'll eat my shorts if Winnipeg is that stupid.
Matthews got slightly more than he should, but this is the market for it.This is about right, should matthews even have gotten Mathews money? Plus all of their better players signed for significantly less which doesn't help. Why would anyone ever not sign for the max to play in peg?
Matthews is looking like a point a game player, 50 of those points should be goals at least, although they may have to get rid of Babcock to do that?
Elite centres tend to get paid more than elite wingers.Matthews got slightly more than he should, but this is the market for it.
Laine should be less.
Dependent on length of contract, the longer the term, the higher the a.a.v. of the deal.max 7.4M
If true those would have to be two of the more pedestrian linemates a that a winger ha s ever maintained +35 goal pace with..105 goals in 214 games played. And he hasn't even turned 21 yet. It didn't help his linemates Ehlers and Little have both had down years. Ehlers is currently on IR..
Yes, but when it comes to Laine's contract, it's worth comparing their stats. This is a Laine thread not a Matthews thread. Please get it right.
I know this is a Laine thread but so was/is Matthews. He's a goal scoring beast 5 on 5. Up until this year he wasn't even on the number 1 PP. It was Bozak, JVR, Kadri, Marner, Rielly/GardnerWhat I always think is a telling stat for a goal scorer is how many even strength goals they score. Laine had a great first year, 36 goals only 9 on the power play. The last two years half his goals come on the PP. Look at Jonny Tavares...35 goals this year, only 6 on the PP.
They have a fetish for indigenous SPs?Why would anyone ever not sign for the max to play in peg?
