What the hell is TFC Management doing, the best player TFC ever had and he brought them a title. I can't believe how this city treats superstars, he should have been given better contract. I hope this poor Management by MLSE does not rub off on Kawii.

Toronto has been home to me and my family for almost 5 years. I arrived here from Italy in January 2015 and immediately felt something special. From day one, I worked hard to repay the opportunity that Toronto had given me. From that first year, I realized that we could do great things here. Through hard work, passion and determination my teammates and I transformed TFC and made it one of the best clubs in MLS and in North America. We didn’t do this alone. Without our great fans this would not have been possible. I can confidently say that I significantly contributed in making unprecedented history at TFC. We wrote a new chapter in the club’s history, together. All for One. This journey has been a wonderful experience for my family and me. It’s without hesitation that I can say that I wanted it to end differently. As I have always maintained, I was hoping to renew my contract and finish my playing career in a city that feels like home. It is here where my daughter was born and where my son took his first steps on a football pitch. A place my family loves to live and wanted to call home for good. Unfortunately, this desire of ours has clashed with a change in direction with current TFC management. For the 2 years I have been seeking to extend my contract however management was reluctant. Recently, after refusing to exercise the club option for 2020, I was offered terms that I deemed unacceptable. They may say I left for a more lucrative deal, but this is not the case. Their offer and lack of transparency is a clear message. It seems management prefers to focus on things other than the pure desire to win. After having grown the brand and elevating the overall reputation of TFC both at home and abroad, it seems I no longer serve a purpose. I would have accepted less to stay in Toronto. Therefore, I reluctantly announce that my tenure as a TFC player has come to an end. I will now focus my attention and efforts towards another challenge. With me I bring beautiful memories. Toronto - the 6ix - you are and will always remain in my heart. Thank you for everything you have taught me about myself and about life. I love you Toronto! Seba

MLSE has a long history of fucking over its players ... KL is only signed for a year and will be picked up by a US club when the season is over by a team willing to spend $$$

Thank you SG !!!

MLSE hasn't disclosed the transfer fee as of yet, I'm speculating that it's somewhere around $US 45 million. It was an unfortunate necessity, TFC need to get younger, they can no longer justify leaving Jordan Hamilton on the bench. It's now his and Osorio's club.

MLSE needs to make some hard decisions concerning the Argos, the turf started to show the effects of gridiron football and too many players got injured due to the rutted surface. So far Larry Tanenbaum has lost his pants on the Argos and TFC has been affected. With the World Cup coming and more renovations along the way, how long will the Argos be at BMO Field. It doesn't make good business sense to sustain a regional entity at the expense of potential millions in profits.

Grazie Gio for what you brought to Toronto.

I believe MLSE uses it best athletes and just throws them away when they are done . The leafs will NEVER win a championship, just use the Nylander deal as an example of complete stupidity! Larry tannenbaum is a lawyer not a sports man period end of story ! He destroyed the leafs for so long until someone had to come in and at least make them not an embarrassment but they are no where near a cup imho Boston will beat them out again because they have no toughness !! So sad for Gio all the best and what a classy good bye note

No argument there, Larry Tannebaum hired Richard Peddie.

MLSE would have been better off if Joey Tannenbaum were a sports entrepreneur. However the arts are his niche, the Tannenbaums started out in the asphalt business and built an empire from there. Joey has done much to make Toronto a world class city, he's a patron of the ROM and TRCM and amassed the funding for the museum's renovations and the building of Koerner Hall. He also pooled the funding to get the 4 Seasons Centre built.

My good friend George, I looked at Transmarkt, the fee as yet to be disclosed but Gio will make $US 11.5 million a year in Saudi Arabia.

https://www.transfermarkt.com/sebastian-giovinco/transfers/spieler/52312
Remember that what Giovinco earns in Saudi Arabia will be tax free. It is the equivalent of earning approximately $20 million US gross.

There is no way Giovinco would have got even $10 million a year gross.

It was the right move for him. Always look out for your needs first.

At age 32 it was probably a wise decision to move him.

Sad to see him go though. I hope TFC give him some type of sending off
