Confirmed. Doc is going to the HOF.

At least his family will get to enjoy the honor.

Question: Does Jose Bautista have a shot at the HOF (after he retires)?

He'll make the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame I would think, but not Cooperstown.

Your you're what's the difference?
Totally different meaning, so I guess it is a big difference. As well, there was no gunslinger in the old west named Halladay.

I guess some people just set higher standards for themselves than others do.

This is mainly a condemnation of our education system.

am I the only one disappointed that he won't be wearing a jays cap/uniform in his presence at the HOF?

12 years here. 4 years there. He wanted to retire as a Jay and signed a 1 day contract to do so. I don't think it is what he would have wanted.

well, I'm sure a lot Jays fans are disappointed, as we only have one player in there with a Jays hat, but the reality is he's not alive to make that decision, and the family feels this is the right thing to do.

The family should have no say in this. Doc is on the record saying he wanted to be induced as a Jay.

So the fans should decide? Or it should be based on some conversation he had years ago vs respecting the wishes of his family? LOL
LOL! Indeed. How about we respect the wishes of the dead pitcher? We have HIS words, after all. What does it matter what his family think?

The player doesn't determine what team he represents (if any).
The National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum does.

Mike Mussina is entering the Hall with a blank cap as well.
His career was almost equal between Baltimore & New York.
