Look at the ads. 90% of them have not been online for months so very few are active. Based on that alone I would say save your $ and time
I contacted 3 different girls advertising on CuddleUp. I did not join, just contacted a few who put all their contact info in their ad.
One, who I knew was also advertising on LL under the Escort section (exactly same pictures, name and phone #), repiled that she used it mainly as another advertising avenue and that her rate was $200/hr for whatever I wanted - cuddling, massage, GFE, same as she was posting on LL. I contacted her from her CuddleUp ad to see what she had to say about her massage offering, but as I said, it was just a front for her SP activities.
The other 2 both offered FS options in their first response to me via text and/or e-mail. In the end I never saw either of these. I had several back-and forth e-mails with both, but nothing ever came of it. One of them actually offered to meet with me at a Starbucks, and if things went well, we could back to her place. She set a time and place, then never showed up. Afterwards, she said I was to e-mail her upon arrival at said coffee shop, but when I asked to look over the e-mail chain and point put where that instruction step was [it was never there], she replied that "thats how I screen", I replied that I would have e-mailed something like "I'm here" if that's what she really wanted. Never heard anything back again, and lost all interest.
The third also engaged in some back and forth e-mails for about a week, but when push came to shove, she said that her schedule for the next week was booked and try again later. I will not be trying again later.
Conclusion - yeah, mainly a complete waste of time, the only $$ I'm out is a few bucks for some latte and if I rember correctly, some pastry thing.
Final thoughts - lately there have been a large number of profiles on CuddleUp featuring one photo, sometimes 2, and no other info

Well in theory if the escort gives a a cart pricing this is a better option for those who want basic stuff for some of there time. I have heard about clients that do very little with there time - conversation and what not. Booking overnight usually involves some convo for example.
A lot of providers offer social dates. Personally I charge less for social time than play time, but that's me. Mere cuddling and conversation would fall between the two categories.

Well I suspect we are talking about you specifically. If an escort is really good at a job they will be very seductive so someone may have intended to be with an escort for social but the raw chemistry etc created a desire for more.
Further I suspect that those seeing an escort of a certain price range will not want to waste there hour doing something they can do a lower price range. Certainly when I was in college I agreed to pre pay for a bunch of lap dances at a strip club on the condition the danger and I had a meal (in those days some clubs had great meals) and chatted. the social time was free, but I suppose it was built into the price - but the total was significantly less than a good escort at the time. I know I would not have felt right asking for the same service from an escort - the only reason it came up is in strip clubs the girls pressure you for sales and I was going to eat anyway and there was a lot of negotiation back then - I suspect unless the sexless date is specifically sold people are going to avoid an escort for this arrangement and seek it elsewhere.
In Japan they have a Hostess which is primary social, very rarely provides 2nd base or more services - and if they do it would make more sense to go to an escort specialist for skill, pricing and safety.
Two services I have tried to get from Sps and generally failed are singing and a good lap dance. Most sps lack skills in these fronts.
