Based on the downvotes, Youtube must be filled with majority trolls and haters. I mean, it's a perfectly sound ad.

Or those with an SJW mentality are indeed in the minority.

Time will tell. The culture war continues.
It just proves there are a lot of assholes and idiots out there.

As if popularity is a measure of correctness LOL

This add divides, instead of bringing a solution to a problem that affects 7% of the female population and 1% of male population. Based on reported stats.

Which means this add just stated that 93% of good males are the same ass the 7% of asshole males in the world.

This add is sexist and a piece of garbage.

The reason the female stat is so low, because like always when shit happens male have to stay quiet.

If you lady's think that the stats are wrong, how about the lady's in the industry tell us what % of their clients are assholes and what % is nice.

The answer i have been given by every woman in the industry i have ask, always is about 5%.

So fuck this stupid add, i just ended my relationship with Gillett, because its not reflective of men.

You guys do realize that Gillette has a female line as well. And any married made usually has a woman doing the shopping in the household. I don't think Gillette is going to be hurting.

I seriiisly do love the debate though. Hahahaha

You won't see that ad, since women aren't the problem.

I liked the ad. A lot of the comments on this thread indicate that it likely won't do any good. The misogyny is thick in this thread.
As is the hypocrisy. Men aren't the problem. Shitty men are. But for some reason men are being asked to take collective responsibility for all men. What kind of BS is that? What happened to individuality?
The ad didn't even bother me that much. But it is just another example of making men (as a collective) out to be the enemy.

I take responsibility for my own actions and no other. As it should be.

Shitty men are shitty men.

There are also shitty women. Why isn’t there a movement to stop toxic female emotional abuse?

I don’t mind the message in this ad, what does bother me us a multinational corporation using a social concern to sell their product.

Altruistic or to make as much $ as possible?

I suppose we will see. If Gillette keeps the ad up and defends it against all the people boycotting it, then they are doing it for altruism.

If they pull it after a few weeks of the global exposure, then we will know it’s just for $.

I’m betting on the later. Time will tell.

For now, I’ll stick with Occam’s razor

The mens razor business is actually getting more competitive. Can't make too many bad moves or they could end up 2nd.

For those who say it is insulting, what exactly insults you?

If the message is to be the best man you can be, do you not agree that doing your part as men to stop bullying and sexual harassment is apart of that?

Why is that message so wrong?

I can't wait for the replies. LOL
right. I really dont need a company to lecture me on how to behave or how other men how to behave. as well, do you think men who do behave poorly are going to change their behavior because of a commercial?

its as bad as men telling women how to behave, and lecturing them. seriously you dont see vagisil lecturing women on premarital sex, number of partners and getting yeast infections?

seriously why is it that men get the lecture yet women are also capable of horrible behavior as well. its rather sexist to think that men only do bad things and women dont.

as far as men doing their part to prevent those issues, why is it my responsibility as a man? why do I take on the role of modifying others behavior? its not my job or my life to correct others poor behavior. I am responsible for me and my behavior. as well women are more then capable to defend themselves both physically and verbally. its rather belittling to a woman that as a man must come to the rescue of a woman who is supposedly strong, independent and capable.

its 2018 women can stick up for themselves just like a man can.

I really did like the mach 3. Ill be changing brands now for a non gillette option.

What insults me is that a men's hygiene products company believes that it somehow needs to lecture me on being a better man. That I somehow implicitly support bullying, sexual harassment through customary learned behavior i.e. what they term toxic masculinity. Probably the most insulting part of the ad is in the backyard when the men at the BBQ are flippantly brushing off the two kids fighting as 'boys will be boys'. What a load of horseshit, that is not the norm. At least when I was growing up. If that was my friend and I our dads would have been in there instantaneously and we would have gotten punished - a cuff across the back of the head and banished to our rooms with no food.

Here's some food for thought. Today in the United States 43% of all young boys are raised by a single mother. 78% of all teachers are female. Those numbers have been trending in that direction since the 1970's. That would suggest to me that the problem isn't toxic masculinity but rather a lack of masculinity.
I gotta say whats wrong with boys rough housing? its used to be a natural occurrence that helped shaped boys. it, taught us are strengths and limitations, how to protect ourselves, competition, hierarchy, problem solving, how to deal with bullies, empathy, the list goes on...

for fuck sake schools these days have removed playing with balls for fear of kids throwing them at other kids. if kids dont learn to deal with this shit as kids how will they deal with this shit as adults?

The poster who wants sps to speak up on percentage of asshole clients has lost the plot.

Why would she hurt her bottomline. If she reports an honest number that upsets people here not only will she be harassed she will lose customers.

When did men become so thin skinned that they feel a commercial is implying all or the majority of men are bad?

Why are people takong a commercial so seriously.

Theres a funny snl skit where 2 competing ad agencies are competing for jobs. The products are mundane....the one ad team pitches classic ads but keeps getting out done by the agency pitching lofty ideas like gillette.

But if we move past these points are people suggesting that these are not legit concerns? Last time i checked bullying is still a problem, sex assualts and inequality are still problems.

For people who want to use a tweet as their argument.... if 47 percent of kids are raised without a father thst means there are a lot of absent fathers. How about man up. If youre going to concieve a child do your fucking job. So maybe gillette has a point that more than 50 percent of fathers could be better men.

Ooooor the tweet is just trying to shift blame.

Its a commercial nothing more

Great example of whataboutism

Yes women can speak for themselves but having male support to go along with their voice is even better.

I see enough posts of people with bad attitudes towards women and sp to know theres a real problem.

Its selfish to basically say not my problem as a man.

thats right it is a commercial and as a consumer, sell me razors without the lecture. I want a razor and thats it. if I wanted to be schooled on how to behave as a man I would go to gender studies course and do the opposite.

again why is it mens responsibility to support women when they can fully support themselves? if some one is fully capable of doing so why do I need to? women voices are very loud and heard as evident in the metoo movement, criminal law, family law, etc.

our voice(mens voice) only wants to be heard when it benefits them. we are ignored when our concerns are spoken(see plethora of mens rights issues)

if men want support to women by all means, but dont shame other men by calling us selfish because we choose to focus on our lives and improving ourselves.

its not my problem, since Im not doing it. Im not here to fix everyone elses problem when they are capable of doing so on their own.

so would you say that females should be responsible for mens issues and helping address and solve them?
