1 let her talk more than you and use open-ended questions ( she should talk about 70% of time)
2 cold read her instead of asking her questions - ex instead of asking what she does take a guess ( I never thought of this but seems like a tactic to illicit conversation and humor)
3 reveal yourself slowly over time
4 tell stories IE instead of saying you just went sky diving make it a story
5 never put people down (of course as this makes you look mean)
6 be comfortable with silence. Use 5 second pauses ( good one)
7 do not face her the entire time ( seems unimportant to me )
8 smirk instead of smile ( a smirk is a half smile)
9 limit communication through technology

That certainly takes a lot of mystery out of it!
I guess it does cut down on wasted time and thins the herd as women quickly respond positively or negatively. It always bothers me when women ask literally right away... I found it 'harsh', but I understand why; but some harmless flirting is always fun.

However, I always feel compelled to talk, as though I am entertaining her. I realize now this is a mistake. Get her to talk and use deliberate pauses sounds a lot better. If she is disappointed that you did not entertain her then she is not really interested.
The cold read sounds like a great idea. Say you try to guess her career and get it right. That is a WTF moment.
