I am curious to what TERB members favourite type of alcohol or drink to buy is?
I was told that Crown Royal Rye was the number one selling spirit brand in the world, and I was really surprised. Not sure if it's true or not?

If there is one that is the best you have had or you have a favourite type of liquor/wine/beer please list.

I like to drink a wide variety of alcohol, just depends on what I am doing and my mood but my favourite choice would be Wine though and I prefer red. Here are some of my other favourites.

Beer--Stella
Cognac--Hine Antique XO
Gin--Hendrick's
Wine--Luigi Righetti Amarone
Rum--Havana Club Anejo
Rye--Crown Royal
Scotch/Whiskey--Glenfiddich 15
Tequila--Tres Generaciones Anejo
Vodka--Pravda

I've had the Balvenie 1509 and also Remy Martin Louis XIII and they are both really good but for only special occasion.

I’m a big bartending/mixology guy, one of my hobbies, so I drink some of everything. I don’t drink a lot of liquor straight, I’m usually using it for mixing, but if I had to pick a favorite, I’d say I’m a rum guy. Big on tiki drinks and the like. I tend to prefer sweeter, darker rums and spiced rums. Mount Gay does some great dark rums. Kraken and Sailor Jerry are nice, relatively inexpensive spiced rums, and are both great for mixing. Havana Club is great if you’re making a mojito (or just for general use, really). Even some of the Appleton aged reserves can be very nice. Also a fan of cachaça, which is a Brazilian spirit similar to rum made from sugarcane. It’s used primarily in a caipirinha, but it can more or less be used wherever rum can be.

I also sometimes make my own spiced or flavored rums. I have a small aging cask, I buy a cheap white rum, throw it in the cask with some cinnamon, vanilla, maybe a little star anise or ginger, whatever I want, and just leave it for a few months. Makes for some very interesting, unique cocktails.

Cachaca OMG brings bag memories. I went through a phase of about 2 years that I drank a lot of Cachaca every week.
Chilled Cachaca with lime and sugar, it's really potent.

Not even close.

In terms of whiskies, (lumping in whiskey, rye, bourbon), it’s #3. Not bad, but not top whiskey let alone top spirit. It pushes out approx. 7mil cases/year. The #1 world distributed whiskey is no surprise. Jack Daniels puts out approx. 12.5mil. What is a surprise is that the #2 spirit in the world is a whiskey called Officers Choice that’s only distributed in India. Approx 33mil cases.

Jinro is the #1 spirit overall which sells approx. 72mil cases/year.

LOL you like your drinks, board only allows 10 choices.
It's which drink you prefer over others.
That's silly. If it's a hot day and I've been working outside I like a cold beer. Before dinner a single malt. During dinner a red wine. After dinner a cognac or an aged rum. Sure I like my drinks and you should make an effort to improve your surveys.

I've tried that Officers Choice scotch. It's horrible tasting rot gut. Targeted initially towards Indian army mess halls it's big only because India has a humongous population. We'll see if Jack Daniels stays on top after the donald's silliness with tariffs.

GTA & Thereabouts...
I came late to brewskies, but I'm in the draught craft beer camp. I cannot say 'no'... I will salivate and will drink it. I have a problem... I can avoid and disregard all other types of booze at this point, but not beer.

(I cut my teeth on Gibson's Finest, will have a Scotch if it expensive and drink red wines when at dinner; typically a Cab Sav).

I tried that for the first time over the Holiday season. I liked it! It was pretty smooth.
I think it is about $2-4 more than Crown. But frequently marked down a bit. They also have a slightly more expensive one that is 90 proof.
