Is it my imagination or are these shootings here in the GTA getting worse??
It seems we have a shooting almost every day now.

The gangbangers were nice enough to take a break on Christmas day.

Man wounded in Brampton shooting

A man was shot at a Brampton intersection on Christmas Day.

Peel Regional Police were called just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to Mayfield and McLaughlin Rds. where they located a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

No arrests have been made but police believe they are looking for a suspect who fled the scene in a dark-coloured sedan

A man is in critical condition after being shot late Christmas Day in Toronto’s Agincourt area.

Toronto Police were called to a building in the Sheppard Ave. and Kennedy Rd. area just before midnight Tuesday for reports that a man in his 40s had been shot.

He was found unconscious and rushed to hospital.

There was no suspect information

Ban handguns. Some will still get into the wrong hands, but for sure the number of shootings and shooting deaths will be significantly reduced.

Really?
It's illegal to purchase a handgun without a license
It's illegal to transport a handgun without an authorization to transport
It's illegal to have a magazine with more then 10 rounds
It's illegal to carry it anywhere except from store, gunsmith or range at which point it needs to be locked in a case, unloaded and trigger locked
It's illegal to point a firearm at anyone
It's illegal to shoot a handgun anywhere but the gun range
It's illegal to shoot at someone
It's illegal to murder anyone

But please do tell me how making another thing illegal will stop the shoitings

It is not the gun, it is the mentality, a murderous mindset. If not the gun then it would be another method, knives etc. Groups are out to exterminate themselves in a calculated self destruction . LE cannot ever remedy this in a free society like Canada. With cheap 3D printers soon to be ubiquitous house hold items, illegal fire arms offenses will increase rapidly.

I would say that banning handguns from the city would make a very slight difference which could not be measured. The criminal element does not subscribe to the laws of the land do they? Law abiding citizens who legally carry firearms are not the perpetrators of these murders. But I could be wrong. Maybe ask a convicted murderous thug who used an illegal firearm if a ban on handguns would have made a difference ?

I totally understand the criminal element but simple logic dictates that if there are less guns available to be bought that there would be less shootings. How much less is difficult to say but the conjecture works equally on both sides of the argument. Nobody can definitively prove their point either way.
